Hey man, what would be a good mace bell to get for a beginner. Some one thats 5'7" 174 lbs. I mean how would you judge this kind of thing. This things arent laying around at the nearest modells. By the way, I have looked into Fujiwara and Billy Robinson. But, sakuraba got me into catch as catch can.
I suggest guys start with the 10kg. I went with the 15kg beause I was pretty strong. The first time I tried to swing it I about pulled my arm out of socket and was afraid of the mace, taught me to respect it. I've had powerlifters and BIG football linemen watch my vids and laugh, saying they could do that easy, until they try and almost kill themselves. The 10kg will strengthen your entire upper body and build endurance, develop tendon strength and get you ready for the 15kg. Sakuraba is awesome
@irishclubswinger -- i would even say to start with a 5kg even if you are strong as the dynamics of the lever are unlike anything a newbie is likely to have experienced before-- even a ClubBell vet such as myself-- even the 10kg is a beast the first few times.
plus the 5kg is great for single hand MB evolutions.
I do train for MMA. I used to fight very actively where I am at from the mid 90s to mid 2000s but MMA was not really appreciated around here like it is now. I went and got inuried so I am building myself back up currently. I have lost like 40lbs since this video its funny for me to watch myself now :)
just curious, what does this do ? I mean, what muscles will it develop ??? Not attacking, I just don't understand what your building power for what muscles ??? I noticed that while the "pole" is swinging, for a second or so, you do get the advantage of momentum and it takes the stress off of whatever muscle(s) your working ....
All torque and leverage. I have a 15KG Mace that guys, myself included, thought I could do that no problem only then to alost have their shoulder ripped out of socket by the torque. Its really a full body tool, listen to the whole vid, I explain why. You should at least the the mace once, I think you will appericate what it does and its fun as hell.
hey! whats up! you're very strong and relentless with that thing. i wanted to ask what weight of macebell would you recommend for someone who weighs around 150-160lbs. i want to get one but, im not quite sure what weight would suit me body weight best. thanks!!!!
@irishclubswinger Good job man!!
