  • Hey George, I've been playing bass for a few months but i cant seem to find some fairly hard songs. Could you please recomend a few songs to me? that would be great. Bye

  • Hello Nathan

Are you looking for You Tube videos, songs to copy off CDs, and what genre/style/techniques etc?

    George

  • Hello George

Im looking for some easy songs to learn on bass but I dont know to any songs I can learn the tabs for. I like classic rock. Stuff like the Beatles and Queen etc. If you could recomend some easy bass lines i could learn that would be great.

  • Hello Nathan

Try "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Come Together". Learn them by ear and not with tabs.

    Bass of Luck!

  • hello george,

I've been playing the bass for about 1/2 year now and your videos were really helpfull to me. But I have a question that has been bothering me for a while. my fav bassists like geezer butler, JPJ, scott reeder, etc. they all pluck very close to or on the fretboard. when I try this, my amp amplifies the awful sound of the strings hitting the frets. it's just ugly ! I've tried playing in all kind of ways but it still give this bad sound. Am I doing something wrong or isit my bass?

  • Hello Winand Thanks for your kind comments about my videos. There could be a few reasons why the strings hit the frets when playing over the fretboard. 1. The neck is convex 2. The action is too low for such a playing technique 3. You are not making the strings vibrate parallel to the fretboard 4. You are plucking too hard 5. A combination of any of the above If none of these apply, I suggest you get someone knowledgeable to take a look. Bass of Luck! George
  • it will be the bass of course, have you tuned it? cause most of the tume its the strings, oh what am i saying it ALWAYS is the strings

  • so many people like me must be thankful t you... xD

  • Thanks for commenting xD.

When I lived in Europe I visited Spain many many times. I always gained lots of excellent and influential music vibes there!

    Enjoy whatever happens!

  • Coming up!

  • if u could maybe post a more beginner video about chords, 7th notes, ect, that would be great

  • Thanks for your suggestion.

My Bass Lessons Online eCourse goes through chords, chord tones, and how to use them effectively in a very step-by-step manner. This would be too much to post on You Tube (I think).

All I could (and probably will) do is post a video with a synopsis about chords and how they apply to bass.

Understanding chords is one of the most useful tools a bass player can have, so you are certainly on the right track!

  • yea the reason i asked is cuz ive been tryin to learn that stuff, but i have no musical backround and its still a lil hazy. but a youtube vid about that stuff would be awesome!

  • thnx for your video's! you are great

  • Hi Benjamin

    Thanks for appreciating!
