His voice is not educated like Pavorotti or Placido Domingo. His voice is natural. He doesn't do much to single like this. He born to sing. I am glad was discored.
I already know im gonna get bad responses to this but here it goes...i think that he worries too much on the pronunciation of the words instead of actually singing them...he's good theres no doubt but since he jus started hopefully he gets better but bocelli and brightman duet is still my favorite for this song
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Youtube is littered with comments that "he doesn't pronounce the words properly" or "tries too hard to pronounce the words properly".
I've listened to Pavarotti sing english verses. Not very pretty, but no-one ever seems to comment! As for Potts versus Bocelli, well I wonder what people would say if Potts did a duet with Brightman (aside from Bocelli fans feeling betrayed)?
Yes... hated because one heard the sound, but couldn't understand... but the first time (and every time) Paul sang, everyone understood perfectly- and that is why they wept.
Indeed, thank you for this. I had worried that PP's schedule would leave his voice in tatters. Quite the contrary: his voice improves and improves. Some of the new phrasing in the lyrics is a bit surprising, but works very well.
I like the "Glenn Gould moment" when the cameraman joins in. That's what PP does tp people.
Bravissimo!

There's SOMETHING about his voice- I just want to listen to him forever- it's mesmerizing. No opera singer ever that effect on me.
