According to Sable, this was a "screwjob" moment as she had no idea that Debra was going to win & become the new Women's Champion. Debra was notified earlier that day that she had to buy an evening gown cause she was gonna be in this match, get stripped & win with Shawn's new stipulation. Apparently, the WWE was fed up with Sable's ego at this point & wanted her to drop the belt. They tried to strip her of the belt before but she would never bring the belt to the arena (Luna confirmed this).

Nicole Bass mentioned this scene in her lawsuit against WWF. She said she was humiliated at being called "Mister" and at a suggestive motion Shawn Michaels made with his mic!!

Couple of things I noticed in this match:

1. This was Sable's last appearance ever on RAW (I know she came back a few years later, but was entirely on the SmackDown brand in that second stint).

2. Debra may have been the first and only person to ever win a title off being distracted (Val caught her off-guard and thus leading to Sable taking her dress off).

This video is funny to me.

Sable looked directly over at Debra after saying all the women wanted to be her, I wonder if they got along. I know Sable is said to be a huge bitch to everyone backstage, so I'm curious about how well they got on. Judging from Debra's reaction to Sable's grinding, aswell as getting her dress ripped off, I'd say they didn't hit it off so well haha. Debra looked pissed forreal.

Debra was no wrestler that's for sure... but she was so hot ... i would've kept it going ... week after week defending her title in evening gowns, Bikini Contests, bra and panties matches, Lignerie Matches for like 3 months, because a couple of months after that she went on to a minor role never to be in the spotlight again considering her stint as lt commish was a minute or 2 per week and her stone cold's wife thing was annoying !

Stephanie had a strong character, she was good at what she did, and when Lita won the title off of her, it helped mold Lita into a huge star.

Debra holding the title did absolutely nothing for anything. She had no real talent, she wasn't going to get the next girl over, and couldn't wrestle.

Debra and The Kat were given the title for storyline purposes..they were known as non-wrestlings and their title reigns/wins showed it....and both of them were the top diva during their title reigns.....however,Laya and Candice were treated as if they were class A wrestlers and they were never "over" with the crowd.
