  • i don't see how this is sexist. Looks like a normal couple to me and she's still learning her way around the kitchen, big deal !

  • fuck yeah folger's is gonna get me laid

  • I don't think the important question here is "Why Folgers?", it's "Why the hell do you keep coffee in your purse?".

  • Anyone who thinks this is sexist, is NO fun at parties

  • was "mrs olsen" the maid?...and why was she carrying a can of coffee in her purse? rofl

  • And yet women were happier back then. Go figure.

  • george should have thrown the coffee in her face and then have a three way with her and mrs olsen

  • Others on Youtube are pretty bad. The women are doormats. The husbands are yelling at them and they appear to be afraid of them. They are unbelievably stressed by this situation. Oh what am I to do I have displeased my husband.

  • I don't have a problem with this commercial. He is trying to play with his wife in the beginning, she says, "I don't have time for foolishness" she wasn't really very nice. She should have given him some foolishness, he playfully puts down her coffee. Both are kind of mean to the other. Yet they come across as a loving couple.

  • "don't Jimmy me Jules"

  • In what way is this commercial sexist?

  • I second that.

  • You can kinda see the latent fear of nuclear annhialation in their eyes.

  • LOL! Mrs Olsen was a Gypsy fortune teller

  • I don't see how this was sexist at all. Worst thing that happened was he IMPLIED that her coffee sucked. And even then it was in joke form.

  • i do not like feminists.

this woman in the commercial, is doing what she wants, if that means making her husband happy, then what is the problem here?

i would have loved to be one of those women who got to stay home, cook, clean, have kids, and not have to work. that is just how i would want to live, you (women) can do whatever you want lol i'm not going to say its wrong if it makes you happy.

  • Feminism means choosing to work or stay home or whatever the hell you want to do.

  • I don't think so.

Everyone would like not having to have to work, but this world in the commercial is one in which it is expected of a woman to wish for nothing else than to make her husband (or men in general) happy, and if she would divert from that expectation in whatever tiny way, she would be considerd bad and less a woman. Please do not wish back those times.

  • oh gee, expecting to be nice to people men and women alike, is such a strain. its not like we dont do that anyways, i personally love to make people happy.and don't even try and pretend these women just kept their smile on all day because that is not true. most of us put up a front these days as well. not much has changed, if i were to have a tattoo or something along those lines, i would be looked upon by SOME, as "bad".

  • And the commercial is sexist in that it portrays this stereotyped role-model for the viewers.

I recommend some reading like "WorkFamily Imagery and Gender Stereotypes: Television and the Reproduction of Difference" - well, the only related text I can think of now...

  • @wishingyouwerescene I think it's pretty apparent that the woman isn't happy by the fact that her husband consistently puts down her coffee, thus why she seeks advice from Mrs. Olsen. How would you like it if you made it your life goal to make someone happy but then they put you down all the time? I don't think you really understand what feminism is, perhaps you should read into it more. And I don't know what you mean when you say "I would of loved to be one of those women...."

  • @wishingyouwerescene Who says you can't do that? A woman has the choice and the right to live whatever life she wants to live, be that a stay-at-home mom or a professional woman.

  • She just happens to have a can of Folgers coffee in her purse. "I'm going to go scrub the dried feces off of the toilet now honey!"

  • in today society she would have a gun in its place.

  • how could you possibly misconstrue this as being sexist?

  • How is this sexist? Just how fucking stupid are feminists?

  • LOL @ "nonsense" being a euphemism for sex.

  • She carries a huge can of coffee in her bag?

  • THIS IS NOT SEXIST. OPEN YOUR EYES.

  • So, the idea that her main concern seems to be pleasing her husband ISN'T sexist?

  • Spouces please spouces. Welcome to marriage. If you want to debate this, I suggest you take a different approach.

  • Yes, spouSes please spouSes. But their life shouldn't revolve around that.

  • Mrs. Olson is vaguely hot. Am I bad in saying so?

  • Do you have a general dislike in women? You do realise it's an advert? A sexist advert as well.

  • If you would learn how to make coffee he would'nt complain you stupid bitch. It's not rocket science Put her back on the street corner he found her on.

  • hell yeah, he needs to slap her around a lil bit, stupid cunt, cant even make a good pot of coffee, what a dumb bitch.

  • I lol'd +1 to you good sir.

  • I like how a foreigner of some sort is always the one to recommend Folger's in these commercials haha

    It's so exotic!

  • That wasn't sexist. He was just joking with her.

  • LMAO how is this sexist? lmao!

  • Happy men, and happy women. A feminists worst nightmare!

Enjoy our feminist inspired ghetto! What ladies, did you think deficit spending would last forever?

  • LOL... what is mrs. olson doing in the kitchen, let alone some family's house??? unless she's a voice in the wife's head.

  • You know Mrs. Olson totally lied about having kids just so she could bring her Mary Worth-style meddling to yet another family.
