  • you are pretty good!!

  • what's the name of the song ? ><

  • @ALiCEFiZZY Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy by the Andrews Sisters.

  • beautiful!!!!

  • why do you apply shadow, then primer/paint, then sometimes shadow again?

  • @lisaaragon This is my trick if you have oily eyelids or you find your eyeshadow tends to move. You apply translucent powder or a plain eyeshadow will do the trick, apply the primer over the top and then go ahead and apply your shadows as normal. If you have fair skin and your eyelids are not too pigmented or oily, then you can apply the primer to a naked eye. For anyone who has medium toned skin, has dark circles or hooded or oily lids will know the problems I'm talking about!!

  • Does it have a video like this with a blond haired girl with blue eyes and a really bright skin ? :D Because I really adore this make up look, but I can't use it because

I'm the bright type -.- (how annoying xD)

  • If you wear glasses I would just use shorter false lashes.

I list all the makeup in the notes section on the side. I believe I used a Napoleon Perdis loose eye dust. I think #7.

  • I have managed to watch a dozen of your videos so far! every one of them are wonderful! Thank You for putting some videos on Youtube that do not entierly consist of murder, car crashes, dumb people or Paris Hilton! hehehe keep up the AMAZING work you do so well!!

  • This is so cute! I love the pinup look and this girl wears it very nicely! The puppies are CUTE too! I have always wanted a Papillon.

  • Beautiful job!

  • Hi Amy. Could you please tell me where you got your make up training? I am a licensed cosmetologist and I want to pursue make up artistry. I don't know which direction to look because as far as I know, the make up sessions are very expensive and I want to make sure I pay the right person.

    Thanks

  • I am almost entirely self taught. I did a short course at Napoleon Perdis Academy in Sydney. It was a good start if you were an absolute beginner, but frustrating if you already know how to apply makeup.

I did a lot of reading, a lot of experimenting, doing a lot for free, and offering my makeup services to whomever I could! A great place to start is doing bridal makeup, you get tonnes of experience, and the money can be good.

  • do you flair the eyelashes on the end or is that her natural eyelash line

  • omg. everything about this video is adorable. From the music to the wallpaper to the hairband and ESPECIALLY the makeup! =]

I will definitely have to try this.

  • She looks gorgeous!!! I love this look women were so classy and their styles were so admirable!! I espeically love the hair and makeup back in those days!! Thanks for sharing and for all of your great advice you do such a wonderful job!! ttyl =) xoxo

  • it would be fun if today was still vintage years

  • the dog is so cute

  • how much is the eyeliner pen and where could I get it?

  • Aw wow really goooood ^_^

  • Are you sure it's called Translucent Face Powder? 'Cause I looked for it online and couldn't find it. Then I went to a Napoleon Perdis outlet store to ask for it and the shop girls just looked at me like I was crazy...

    ='(

  • I don't have it anymore. I think they changed the name of it, but it was translucent face powder.

I now use Mac's loose blotting powder. Same sort of product.

  • GORGEOUS (:!

  • Oh my daughters name is sommer. How sweet to hear it in a great video. Thanks girls : )

  • that's very cute.<3

  • i live in england, and i was wondering, where would you find the liquid eyeliner if you live here, and if i cant, whats the best one to use, if i could get it?

  • Hmmmm.... Shiseido in the UK. Not too sure. I buy it from the department stores beauty counters down here in Australia. Dior has one just like, with a brush tip and an ink cartridge inside.

  • i have a small eyes - chinese look eyes, how would you recommend on applying the eyeshadow so that i can make my eyes look bigger.

  • I'm working on a video. Just having trouble getting models. Asian makeup is very important to me too.

  • löved it

  • heel mooi

  • VERY cute! I love the vintage looks, I've watched this video and the one with the blonde girl and I admire them very much! I'll have to give these a try! But a question: What does the canvas paint on the eye do? I've never used that product before.

  • It's an eyeshadow primer. It helps your eyeshadow last longer and not crease. A lot of people in the states prefer to use Urban Decay Primer Potion. I can't get it here in Australia, but Im trying to get my hands on it to compare it to the bare canvas paint.

  • cool video on how to do vintage makeup...except for the eyelashes..a little tooo noticeable...otherwise great!

  • the girl you did the makeup on is gorgeous already! sheesh, if i looked like that i'd never bother with makeup!

but none the less, i like the style.

  • Thank you. I agree! Summer is so gorgeous!!!

  • I love this! So pretty and easy enough to do!

  • beautiful!

  • i love this video,

    you do makeup so well

and the model is stunning :)

keep it up, hope to see a lot more of your videos!

    xxx

  • oh my god, i sang the chatanooga choo-choo (cant spell it) with a choir about 2 yrs ago, its such a cool song! cool vid btw

  • are you from australia? btw great make up

  • Yes I am! Are you from Australia?

  • I was just cruisin through myspace myspace

and i found your make up tips, its fun to watch eveb though i dont use make up myself. I thought i was the only girl our age who listened to this old music though. haha My favorite is billy holiday, i wish that this type would get popular again/. Though, it would never be the dame ; )

thanks- i found a friend in your videos tonight

  • Aw! You're such a sweetheart! My fave is Doris Day and Eartha Kitt. I love the cutesiness of their music! Do you sing yourself? I sing, but I'm more folky. I have a music channel too, aben3084, here on youtube.

  • the girl looks kinda like Dita Von Teese! Pretty :) I will try this.. haha. nice video~

    You are really talented!!

  • I love that vintage look! Fab!

  • Love it!

  • Very cool!! :D

  • Really nice makeup, what brand are the eyeshadow?

  • Napoleon Perdis

  • I absolutely adore this video! Can you specify which cheek and lip colors that you used on the model? :)

  • I've listed all the products used in this video (including foundation, lipstick etc) in the description text to the right of the video. Click on the "more" button to see the full text.

  • What brushes do you use?

  • you are amazing at this! well done, your model looks absolutely stunning, im so impressed! where did you learn all this?

  • I ABSOLUTELY love this pinup look, and my boyfriend is a greaser so it would go perfect for our little couple look, but my lips are very full AND i have braces AND im only 17, so I'm not sure at all about the red lipstick, PLZ- any suggestions on keeping the pinup look with maybe another shade of red or another color, i dunno but i really want to make the pin up look statement.

    plz help? =[

  • Have you seen my pink vintage pinup look? That's probably more appropriate for someone with braces (I know about braces, I had mine taken off about a year ago!). Check out some of ilovegerardo's hair tutes too to finish off the look!

  • i was hoping you could give some recommendations for shadow/blush/lip shades for a natural redhead with pale skin and green eyes in order to achieve this look...

    thanks so much!

  • I am actually going to do a few vids on retro styles, maybe evening and day makeup for red heads. I have a model whose offered to be in a vid, so I will work on it.

  • do you think you could use this for a party just a normal birthday party or gathering?? or would it look incredibly out of place? i love this so much i want to use it for my party later this week

  • I wear my makeup like this to parties all the time! Minus the false eyelashes. I usually wear medium length ones, but ones that are quite full if I want to look retro.

  • HI! what kind of brushes do you use?

  • I use a mix of Napoleon Perdis and Mac brushes.

  • great video! really well done, will definitely use the tips. thanks!

  • absolutly stunning!!! thank you so much

  • absolutly stunning!!! thank you so much

  • i love those eyelashes!!! theyre so kawaii. especially on mana_sama!!!

  • You're amazing! Can you come do my makeup daily for me here in the United States? lol :)

  • Sure! I need a holiday!

  • oh snap! it sucks how we dont dress like this anymore! i wish i could be like those girls with awesome hairdos and makeup! great vidxx

  • I agree with you. Women must have felt so sexy and gorgeous in those days!

  • how do you get your eyeshadow to look so soft and smooth mine always comes out sparkly looking no matter what I do. :(

  • If I am using a shimmer, and I want a more subtle look with it (like a tad bit of sparkle) I use a fluffy eyeshadow brush, apply a small amount of product and gently brush over the eyes.

    Try the mac 217 brush.

  • Really pretty look. Cool; you even have 50's vintage wallpaper. :)

  • haircuts1.blogspot com

  • very, very cute!!

  • I have Andrews Sisters CD's. You can easily get it from iTunes. If you want a more modern version, try the Puppini Sisters version.

  • what is the name of the glue did u use in her false eyelashes???

  • Lashgrip. You could also use Duo Lash adhesive too.

  • Where I can find this liguid eyeliner?

  • I get it from the department store here in Oz. I hear Shiseido is not as popular in the States as it is here and in asia.

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS SONG

  • Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy by the Andrews Sisters

  • good stuff

  • I'm curious as to what brand of blush you used here, and is the lipgloss MAC? I'd appreciate it if you'd say. Thanx!

  • I list every single product that touched Summer's face in the description text to the right of the video. Click on the "more" button, and you'll see it all listed there.

I think it's important to let you guys know what brands I use, so you'll see I list the products for each of my videos.

  • Thanks for the instructions. I tried it Saturday and it worked great. Unfortunately, I'm unable to attatch the link to my blog, showing the photos I took afterwards. THe only change I made was that I cut the lashes in half and put them just on the outter edges...I liked it better that way.

  • I love the song!!!

  • You're incredible! Love your talent!

Instead of wearing false eyelashes, can I use the thickness volume lengthening type of mascara?

  • Definitely, you can tone it down and not use false eyelashes. Or if you are going to a party, maybe amp it up a bit with false eyelashes. You can use more medium length ones. The ones I used in this vid are really long and extreme.

  • love it

  • That is some lashes!

  • oh my!

when i saw this video i nearlly died! pin up is amazing and this has jsut made me a very happy girl :)

  • This is so pretty

  • I love this look! I just got some Russian Red yesterday and I'm loving it. ;] Only thing is, I can't wear the super-exaggerated false eyelashes because they just don't look right on me... Oh well. Maybe a slightly more subtle lash will work. If I may ask, that dusty pink eyeshadow, is it still available on the Napoleon website and if so, what color is it?

  • Yes it is available on his website. It's "Napoleon Perdis Sparkle Dust #7".

  • nawh!! this is so cute!..youve inspired me :D lol

  • I love the song is the sister andrews is'n it?

  • thank you for listing the products you're using, but you're not mentioning where you using it or how.

  • I explain the whole way through what I'm using or describe the colour and texture, and the steps to create this look. I don't always mention the brand throughout the video because I don't think brand is important, rather colour and texture.... because not everyone can get the same brands around the world.

  • I really like this video. I'm thinking about being a pinup girl for halloween. I was wondering if I would use these same eyeshow/lip colors even though I'm mixed, and have the skin color of Jessica Alba. Would I use these colors, or would they fade on me? Should I use different colors?

  • Copy the eyes I do in the pink pinup vid, and then do the red lips. If need be, go for a darker brown in the crease. I think you could still do this look even if you have skin like Jessica Alba. Summer, my model, is quite tanned.

  • now do these pinks and red colors work for african american skin???

  • I would go for browns on the eyes instead. But definitely wear red lipstick!!! I am going to do a video like this for darker skin tones.

  • My goodness, I just love your videos.

Especially the vintage/pinup makeup. Me and my friends swing dance so I love doing their makeup to look authenticate :) Thanks so much.

  • Dude I LOVE your videos! I am a fellow makeup artist and your videos are soo cute!

  • i love this! amazing, i have to watch your other videos.

  • how long will fake eyelashes last and how do you take them off ??

  • Check out my frequently asked questions vid. I talk about it there.

I can get about 3-4 uses of a band of lashes.

  • is this the same girl from 3 option look?

  • Yep. Summer is in heaps of my videos!

  • I don't think I can find a video of yours that I don't like. I really like the eye makeup in this one, especially.

You also have that vintage, retro inspiration in so many of your videos, it's great. And it never looks trashy. The music is always good too! Haha, I love The Andrews Sisters.

  • Yes I agree, It never looks trashy!
