Of course if the footage is cut out at "I've got a bracelet too John" it's gonna look like Obama is just trying to one up McCain since viewers are not being allowed to hear what he says about it, and you're just fine with that saying that?

Also you hear Obama about to say he recieved the bracelet directly from the fallen soldier, he stops and fumbles while correcting himself and then says the MOTHER of Sgt Jopek.

Bajillions of people are goin on about Obama using his bracelet for political gain seemingly totally unaware that McCain is doing the EXACT same thing they're saying.

They are looking at the same facts and only seeing one thing, and that is Obama being some kind of evil, untrustyworthy slimeball for doing it even though McCain is the one who is REALLY doing it and Obama is the one who is trying to NULLIFY the effects of using the bracelets for political gain.

I also respectfully disagree with daddymak8 that McCain used the name of Matthew Stanley as a campaign prop. He brought Matthew's name into the debate to show why the United States must not leave Iraq and Afghanistan in defeat.

Matthew's mother said to McCain:

"But, Senator McCain, I want you to do everything -- promise me one thing, that you'll do everything in your power to make sure that my son's death was not in vain."

After fumbling and straining to remember the name, he revealed that his had the name of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek of Merrill, Wisconsin. Thank you so much for your service to our country! I am also a big McCain supporter. I had supported Hillary when she ran, but after she lost, I told my wife there was no way I can vote for Obama. McCain is a true hero and leader. I've always liked him as a senator and I'm now proud to support him as a Presidential candidate. What is the general consensus among the Marines you serve or have served with? Do they like Obama?

I saw our military almost destroyed by that war where we were betrayed by both our govt and by people like Obama! Yet all of us who served, even though reviled by the left wingnuts, were proud to have been with our brothers (we lost so many). I stay in touch with a lot of vets & active duty folks; the vast majority have NO USE AT ALL for Obama. He's NO LEADER!! He's a shyster sham artist! :)

Sorry Keith (daddymak8), but you got some facts wrong in your email to me. Sergeant Ryan David Jopek is the son of former Staff Sergeant Brian Jopek. It is not the other way around as you pointed out.

Brian Jopek does support McCain. He is no longer married to Tracy. Brian Jopek has a different take on what should happen in Iraq.

Brian's ex-wife Tracy Jopek supports Obama.

Obama's reaction simply made McCain's bracelet seem irrelevant. It may not have been his intention, and anyone voting for him will forgive. However, I see a weak moment that speaks loud about his willingness to trivialize the sacrifices that both bracelets represent, all so he could try an achieve some equal ground to man who has lived and breathed Foreign Policies since before Obama was borne.
