I'm kinda partial to rottweiller pups, great markings. Plus, if raised and socialized well, make wonderful family dogs despite their bad rap. All the Good Dog Carl books are about a Rottweiller who cares for and protects a baby. They make the most loyal and protective dogs ever. But have also heard great things about golden retrievers. I love all dogs!
