It remind me some disappeared code developed by some university seen years ago on the web. I've played it with it at 800x600 (skipping budget for a 1024 projector) and gave great results! 1mm less resolution. I think i've hold some stuff about that. One thing i've remember about it's algorithm is that it used some kind of gradual thickness gradient.
Congratulations! It's nice to see movement forwart structured light scanner using laser focusing! It would be great to see it mixed with davinci3dscanner.
@kincaid05 No, I was using Quicktime screen capture. You can see the other videos on my YT page. Rotating two million points is computationally intensive and that just slows down video encoding.
Also can I recommend you use some screen recording software, and mix them together, it doesn't take much effort and adds in so much quality. nice build!
meow! cool stuff. meow! :-) where you blog at / post your stuff?

I use CamStudio, it's free, captures an arbitrary rectangle of the screen, and does not hinder application performance at all.
Were you using Fraps that slowed down the rendering?

@DaemonPanda I actually made some more videos using screen recording, but it slows the rendering down a lot.

I think your cat is hungry :p

@DaemonPanda No, she just likes to meow all the time. (She's got plenty of food, she just wants attention. That's why I scanned her later on...)
