  • i love

  • I love this song so much! <3

  • why doesn't everybody just shut up and listen to this amazing song? Who really gives a crap if you don't believe in god, or if you Say Merry Christmas or Merry Xmas? You have the freedom believe in what you want, so who care what other people think or believe in? Jeezz.

  • PEOPLE: Originally the X was not an X as we use it in the English alphabet; it was the Greek letter chi which looks very similar to an X. The Greek letter X (chi) is the first letter of the Greek word for Christ, Xristos ( Χριστός) so Xmas therefore means "Christ's Mass" which is what the word Christmas actually means. So it can be Christmas or Xmas!

  • I'm sick of all christmas being all about gifts. for little kids, its about santa. for older kids, its about getting gifts. for parents, its about buying gifts. christmas is NOT about "Santa claus" or "cris kringle" or gifts. its about christ. its about family. and sure, geting gifts is cool, but the true gift is giveing. actually the best gift this season will be about christ getting born. christ DIED for us. The least we could do is say CHRISTMAS instead of useing X mas. so MERRY CHRISTMAS

  • I love this song, ecspecially now. Christmas isn't just the same. where did Christmas go? ):

  • this song is like a really sad song if u think about it but its a good very good song.

  • Society wants to forget all about Jesus Christ, until they are dying. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

  • this song is on how the grinch stole christmas!

  • One nation under God!! It is simple-don't make it complicated. Money is the root to all evil and greed is all around us. I hope everyone sees this in congress!! Christmas is a time to reflect and thank God for what we have and give us strength to change what needs to be changed. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

  • Santa spells Satan. Santa and his gifts takes away from the real spirit of Christmas... Christ. Just as Satan wants to take people away from Christ. There's nothing wrong with giving gifts on Christmas, but do so in a manner that doesn't take away from the Spirit. Don't spend a gazillion dollars of gifts, just make it a special day for your family. Don't take Christ out of Christmas. <3 <3 <3

  • One person attends Westboro

  • 1 person can't find Christmas

  • Like if you think we should put Christ into Chirstmas more! Christmas isn't for Santa! It's the birth of Jesus Christ! So why do we leave him out?

  • everytime i hear this I start crying bcause my uncle was reason Christmas was sooo fun. But now that he's dead, it's lost its touch

  • I love this song! ((:

  • I always listen to this and I still cry :'c It's just soo sweet/sad <3

  • ++LIKE IF YOU LIKE CHRISTMAS

  • The "-mas" part is from the Latin-derived Old English word for "Mass",[1] while the "X" comes from the Greek letter Chi, which is the first letter of the Greek word Χριστός, translated as "Christ".[2]

  • @TheDcalhoun but most people don't know that and when they say"X-Mass" they don't mean "Christ" in Greek.

  • @thepickiest1 But some people don't pay attention to the Christ part in Christmas. So its not the word that takes out Christ. It how you establish it yourself.

  • my favorite song for christmas

  • i love this song and i like to sing it in christmas too

  • i LUV this song! my fav xmas song everrr

  • i love this song!! <3

  • xmas

  • @vickie2491 You shouldn't say x-mas , don't you know that means your taking Christ out of Christmas

  • @flamechicks actually "x" means Christ in greek

  • @flamechicks I used to think so too, but I actually learned from my Bible teacher that a capitol X means Christ in Hebrew. :D

  • @flamechicks

Perhaps they are an Atheist? The world doesn't revolve around your religion.

  • @rematchsixsix Then they are wrong.... nuff said

  • Comment removed

  • @rematchsixsix I did not mean that they are Wrong, what i didn't clearly state is that they are wrong for trying to force the Government to take "Christ" out of Christmas. Why should they get to take it out and make the rest of us suffer for it. That's pretty greedy. But when you said that i would get upset and tell you off, you were indeed very wrong. I don't like to get upset or angry over things that people say in a stupid comment section. But there is a God, and he is logical

  • @rematchsixsix I honestly don't know who's right and who's wrong, and I can't believe what they're saying about santa, that's crazy, but I think slamming people because of their religion is rude. I'm a Christian and I love debating, I've made it to state for debating real problems before. And I make sure to keep my religion out of it. It was an offensive and judgmental thing to say.

  • @meredithjohnston13

The point I was trying to make is that the holiday "Christ"mas was recognized long before Christ supposedly came to Earth in human form.

So, how can Christmas possibly be about "Christ's birth", if it was celebrated before he was ever born?

Go Google "Is Christmas really 'Christian'?". Have a read. Though I know it won't open your eyes, or anyone else's.

What if you'd been born in Pakistan? You'd likely be a Muslim. You HAPPEN to be born in a Christian majority area.

  • @rematchsixsix there was not Christmas before Christ was born. There were holidays celebrated by the Romans on Dec. 25 about the rebirth of the sun, and the Pagans for winter solstice. And it does open my eyes, I am able to entertain other other thoughts without changing my mind. And yes, you're right, if I was born in Pakistan I would likely be Muslim, but I don't see what that has to do with this conversation.

  • @meredithjohnston13

What the Muslim thing has to do with this conversation is that, by you being brought up in a majority-Christian area, you were influenced in your religious decisions.

What if you'd been brought up in Africa? You'd likely believe in a magical ocean dwelling half-bear, half-fish creature (or something of the sort).

So if you die believing that, because you were brought up in that area, does God then condemn you to Hell?

My point: How can you believe you're right...

  • @rematchsixsix (continued)

I really don't know why you are turning this into something that it's not. You're adding a lot of stuff into this conversation that I never said, therefore it had no point, and adds nothing to this conversation. And yes, I was influenced by my religious decisions, I never said I wasn't. Why are you telling me this? I just called you on something that was rude, and now you're picking apart my belief and making stuff up. You're just looking for drama.

  • @meredithjohnston13

I'm not looking for drama, and I'm definitely not making stuff up.

I'll take that as your rage. Thanks for playing. :)

  • @rematchsixsix yeah, so if you're not making stuff up why did you talk about a "magic dragon creature"? And the end of the last comment made no sense. Oh, well. Merry Christmas! :) I'm praying for you! <3

  • @meredithjohnston13

If you made it to state for your debating capabilities, why can't you handle this one?

I was suggesting that if you had been brought up in Africa, you'd have been believing in something other than the God you believe in.

The idea of that, was to find out how you can possibly think the God you follow is the true "God", if you are able to understand that other religious folk believe they are following the right "God" just as wholeheartedly as you do?

    Logic is hard :(?

  • @rematchsixsix No, logic is not hard. You're basically beating a dead horse. I completely and totally agree that if I were brought up in Africa I would believe in something different. I NEVER said I didn't. Same if I were brought up in Israel, Pakistan, India, etc, etc. And I believe the God I follow is the "true God" as much as anybody else does. Nobody can ever know for sure who is right or wrong, or who is half right, or half wrong. We find out on judgement day.

  • @rematchsixsix (continued)

And honestly, if the God I believe in is real, he will judge one on whether or not they were a good person, not whether they believed in him. Because, that's vain, and how can you blame somebody for the upbringing? so no, logic is not hard. And this isn't a debate. This is me calling you on crap and then blowing it all out of proportion. And take your smart ass attitude somewhere else. I don't want to deal with it. It's what got me pissed off in the first place.

  • @meredithjohnston13

I'm not being a smart ass, you see me as a smart ass because what I am saying offends you. That's how it works. Christians can't stand my views, so when I share them, they get pissy and whine and tell me to hop off.

    I told you that you'd do it, didn't I?

Anyway, I think it's clear I've done what I wanted to do. I wasn't even going to reply to your first comment, but I figured I could stay strong on my quest to find a Christian who wasn't as brainwashed as the others.

  • @rematchsixsix What views!?! you're just being rude! I agreed with you that if I were brought up somewhere else I would have different views and I agreed with you that no one really knows if they're following the right path! You are just SO stereotypical "Christians can't do this, or this, or this"

  • @rematchsixsix (continued)

I don't even understand what you were trying to do! I flipping agreed with you on your points, but what pissed me off is that you were telling me "logic is hard :(?, Christians can't do this" and when you were making up that Africa crap. And I'm not whining, you're just being an asshole. And what the hell were you trying to do? Piss me off? Well it worked. And I'm not brainwashed sweetheart, I'm strong in my beliefs, like you are strong in yours.

  • @meredithjohnston13

    I'm sorry. LOL

I often find great joy in pissing off Christians. Although the points I made were ones that I felt to be valid points, you're right, I was being cynical with the "Logic is hard? :(" comment.

The rest was genuine though. With the Africa comment I was trying to show you that culture fixates your religious views.

African's may worship this "fake magic dragon". They may look at you and say "She worships a fake giant magic invisible man."

  • @rematchsixsix hahaha! the Christian part made me laugh!! It's not nice, but it's really funny!!! And, I now see what you mean by the Africa thing. And they probably do. And the rest were valid points, though at times, I didn't find relevance of them to our discussion, but I understood what you meant. I feel like we're on the same page about what other people believe and how we never really know what's right.

  • @rematchsixsix Continued And I just want to make sure you understand that I do not judge people on what they believe. Sooo yeah :) I would say Merry Christmas, but you're not Christian, and I don't know what you celebrate, but Happy Holidays!!!! :)

  • @meredithjohnston13

I celebrate Christmas. I just didn't agree with flamechicks comment saying that it's wrong to say "xmas". It irritated me because Christmas isn't about "Christ" unless you're Christian.

Yes, I cal it Christmas, but I do not actually view it as a religious holiday. I see Christmas as a time to get together and spread love with family and friends.

Flamechicks just seemed like the type to say something like "OMG U CAN MIX SANTA AROUND TO SPELL SATAN! SANTA IS EVIL!".

  • @rematchsixsix I'm agreeing with you on this entire debate. I'm sorry but I'm Wiccan/ Pagan, I have a Goddess and the Horned God, whom mainly represent the cycle of seasons, but I do believe in them as part of the elements of this earth. That is my chosen belief, but I still happily celebrate the holidays which stem from my own religion. You all believe what you believe, but who honestly cares? I don't. X-mas is just as correct as Christmas.

  • @rematchsixsix Oh my gosh, I know right!?!?! It irritated the HELL out of me! Because "X" stands for Christ in Hebrew, and you have to be wanting to start crap if you mix santa around to spell satan. And I think it's really cool how you celebrate Christmas, because that's really what it's all about. And I now understand what you mean about Christians debating. And yeah, flamechicks did seem like that type. Haha! Well Merry Christmas and have a happy New Year!! :)

  • @meredithjohnston13

    You too :)

  • @meredithjohnston13

    (continued)

... When there are THOUSANDS of other religions and branches of those religions around the world?

And yes, the holiday "Christmas" was celebrated BEFORE "Christ was born". It obviously wasn't called CHRISTmas, but it WAS celebrated.

YES, many other cultures celebrate a form of "Christmas", so how can you be so certain that you are following the right path?

The logical answer: You can't. It's based simply on odds.

The religious answer: God speaks to me.

  • (continued #2)

Would you mind giving me some historical evidence that the man Jesus Christ ever existed and performed these "miracles", so told in the Bible?

I would encourage you to refrain from using the Bible as a source of knowledge, as that obviously defeats my entire purpose in trying to disprove the idea of "God".

  • @meredithjohnston13

    I think... umm...

I think rematch takes the cake on this one. >_<

  • @RSbuddyCrack if you actually read the conversation then you'd see that she/he was pulling a lot of stuff in that weren't even mentioned. They're attempting to add substance to their argument by throwing in useless, irrelevant information

  • @flamechicks I agree with you, though X mean Christ in several different languages it's the fact that people don't say it enough to really remember who this holiday is "supposed" to be about. Christ.

  • @flamechicks but yet some people dont believe in that stuff you should let people say what they want and you should not put your religion onto other people do you know how rude that is to do

  • @MrJohn565656777 i am not religious and yet i still say Christmas. People need to quit changing the way america is. It is a "free" country and people can say it how they want, but when people start changing our ways because they fear to offend someone who isn't from america. Oh well if they do not like how america is then they can leave. We do not go to other countries and get offended by the way they do/say things because that is HOW they do/say it in their country. Thats how it should be here.

  • @flamechicks actually it might not mean that the letter "x" is taken from the greek word "xitio" which means christ. so your not technicaly taking it out more like abreviating.

  • @flamechicks People took Christ out of Christmas a LONG time ago, long before "xmas" came along. They took Christ our of Christmas when they forgot what Christmas was really about, the birth of Christ. Christmas has become nothing more than consumer gluttony, one of the seven deadly sins, masked as religious sentimentality. You could probably fix the other six sins in there too. Christmas no longer holds its true meaning. We now worship a man in a red suit and the all-mighty dollar.

  • @elderban I do not worship "Santa". I worship the one and only god. Thats why Christmas is my favorite holiday. I am so sick of people saying that you have to say happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas and trying to take Christ out of everything we do. People disgust me. To me it is Merry Christmas. I will say Merry Christmas and if you don't celebrate Christmas i will say that i am sorry and say happy Hanukkah or Happy Kwanza. I respect other people's religion.

  • @TeamJacobnum1fan

Do you respect those without religion as well?

  • @rematchsixsix Yes i do. Its what they believe and i respect their choice. I respect everyone's choices even if i might not go along with them.

  • @TeamJacobnum1fan

    Good stuff. :)

  • @flamechicks That doesn't particular matter does it? Not everyone is Christian. Besides if you think about it Christ was born in early summer, it just happens to be winter at the time. I celebrate Christmas because there was actually a man was a toy maker and gave toys to the kids in his area in a time of hardship. Also just saying, but many "Christmas" things originate from Pagan faith. Like the tree. Don't bring religion into a convo when you can be proven wrong.

  • @flamechicks Thats what I thought but X means Christ in Greek.

The Greek letter X (chi) is the first letter of the Greek word for Christ, Xristos ( Χριστός) so Xmas therefore means "Christ's Mass" which is what the word Christmas actually means.

  • @flamechicks yet christmas has nothing to do with christ it was a pagan holiday the cristians just stole

  • @MrJohn565656777 you must be jehovah witness. figures.

  • @Americangal18 hahahahahahaha im not jehovah witness just saying that christmas actually had nothing to do with jesus christ it was invented by the pagans but the christians stole christmas and made it about jesus
