@AstonishingRED - believe it or not Disney has always leaned more towards mermaids being dangerous. The little mermaid is extremely popular giving the illusion that Disney mermaids are nice. But in peter pan both real life and cartoon the mermaids attack Wendy wishing to drown her , pirates is yet a third instalment of dangerous mermaids (even in the little mermaid there are half human half fish characters seeking to cause harm)

The Pirates movies are always soooo fun to watch. And I like that disney has two depictions of mermaids. A peaceful people in the Little Mermaid and deadly creatures in Pirates Of The Caribbean.

Mermaids are my most favorite creatures in the mythical world and CONGRATULATIONS to the Team POTC4 for making the entire mermaid scene and the entire movie one of the best I have seen. AMAZING!

When I watched the movie in German I was pretty disappointed on how the mermaid sang. it wasn't creepy at all and one could detect the computer voice editing right away.
