Oh someone just kill me. What a voice and why didn't I get one as well? lol Out of sight song, and he sang it with such emotion. Did I just say out of sight? I'm showing my age lol The ending is great in this song as only Gene could do.
Haven't heard this song in ages but as soon as I did it was familiar. The man could belt out a tune like no other. I am very appreciative to you Brent for all these great songs you have posted. Thanks so much for keeping the memory of the greatest voice of my time on Youtube so we can all enjoy this singing legend.
Whew. This recording says a lot about how natural his talent was. I can't believe he was this good this young. He has his full power and finesse here, and he's barely into his twenties. Plenty of room for argument about whether it's his best recording, but you must admit he really worked that song, and it was a great vehicle for him.
Unbelievable! His talent has no end. I need to go to bed but I just can't stop playing his songs.

This is a great example of a tune and voice that should have bumped this song forward. Lousy arrangment and carboard musicianship...lost adventure...

This is better than the flipside which was the hit. The strength and emotion in this song from Gene is amazing.

Agree 100%. Not my favorite piece of music, but man, did he nail it... a great vehicle, as you say.

I'm not so sure that 'does me in' is the same as his 'greatest recording'. In any case, it's not, period.

I didn't know you could 'place' a comment.I'm a newkid, alright.
But I know Pitney. And I know where this song would stand.
Sorry.

Nope. Don't think so. Any such comment must have been before he had recorded very many songs.
