I don't want to sound snobby or anything... but at max stats, the Meat Cleaver is the most powerful weapon in the game. It outdamages the DBS by quite a significant margin and it has a better moveset.

And it looks cooler.

@OsciIet actually BBS is most powerful. On its own yes MC is but Lighted BBS wins every time in terms of total damage output.

@moogle68 A lit BBS with full stamina bar will outdamage the MC - but a lit MC at max stats will do more damage in just one single hit, making it technically the strongest.

The BBS is kinda better, yeah, but it depends on what you mean by "most powerful". They're the two best weapons though.

That's for sure. Like that Penetrator sword.  It's pretty cool looking. Utterly useless though. For the record, I think the dragon bone smasher dual wielding is pretty awesome, in a silly sort of way.

Yeah. I think the Penetrating Sword is the BEST LOOKING sword in the game HANDS DOWN! Too bad it does as much damage as a Tower Shield bash. Y' know whats weird, most of the best equipment in this game, look completely terrible! Dragon Bone Smasher kinda looks like a giant wrench or dog biscuit. Dark Silver armor is pretty good, except for the hideous (IMO) helmet.

LOL The Dragon Bone Smasher DOES look like a dog biscuit!! I use the Demon Brand most of the time, that thing basically just looks like a toothpick to me. Deals out some great damage though. I guess the only exception would be the Rune Sword. That's an awesome looking weapon with some power behind it.

vsg1980, I tend to use weapons that are based on real life weapons, i.e., kilij, claymore, war scythe, mirdan hammer (based on lucerne hammer). These look pretty cool.

That sounds.... interesting. I think I'll make a character for that. I'll probably use Flamberge and Mirdan Hammer most. (Flamberge is based on the Flammenschwert, which means "flame blade". They look EXACTLY alike)

That's exactly what I'm trying to do. I have to find more materials to make my regular weapons powerful enough for me to use them regularly. I love that War scythe too by the way. Freakin' awesome looking.

Yeah, Rune Sword is pretty cool looking.... I think I'll use it for a Mage Build. But there are some weapons that look cool and ARE cool. Large Sword of Moonlight, for example. But when it comes to shields, the better looking ones ARE more useful. Purple Flame Shield, Tower Shield, Brushwood Shield, they all look pretty good. And are very useful. I USED to use Northern Regalia with Pure Black character tendency, then I switched to the big green dog-biscuit after upgrading my strength further.

Yeah I can tell the developers of this game have an affinity for cool looking shields. I'm the same way... I like when RPG's like this pay special attention to their shield designs. They're fun to use and make you look and feel like a bad ass. The Brushwood and Tower shields would probably be impossible to even pick up in real life, LOL.

I love the crest on the Dark Silver Helmet. Reminds me of an Ornate Chess piece themed suit of armor. Dark Silver FTW!
