  • This is fantastic

  • Very nice

  • Trés belle interprétation et jeu trés propre D.BABEL

  • a real slap in the face of organists.

  • exelente! =)

  • Truly magnificent performance! Thank you!

  • Hello my friend. Very nice playing here, and very nice organ as well. If you don't mind, let me ask you a couple of questions (I also want to mount a home organ for myself). I already have a main MIDI keyboard, if I buy a second one, how do I connect both to the computer? Two USB entrances or do they connect to each other? And how did you transform the ugly M-Audio Keystation 61es into this nice look you have here? Thanks a lot, cheers.

  • @gilbertoagostinho In my case I have two primary midi interfaces. (M-Audio Midisport) - these allow for individiual MIDI inputs from the pedals and keyboard. The Keystation manuals are connected by USB. As far as the 'transformation' - I removed the plastic housing and mounted the keybaords on some wooden blocks which worked quite well!

  • I want this! Perhaps I can trade a slightly used pair of organ shoes for it? :)

  • you play well fair enough, but nothing like the real thing, computers this computers that, its a tool for use indeed, but nothing like an actual pipe organ nothing replecates the feel of a live blown pipe organ no matter how small.

  • @manga12

    what a cock

everyone has room for a pipe organ in the home

i keep mine next to the steam traction engine

do you travel everywhere by horse......no car can replicate the feel of a real animal based propulsion system

  • I did not think I was being that harsh, just by being an organ purest, and if you like steam engines thats fine too, I dont know if you were being sarcastic or not, but I know of plenty of people that collect steam engines and old tractors. No I dont travel by horse though they are fun to ride, for most of my off road travel I like to get my running shoes on and race up the trail its good fitness, or I just use the new ranger utv we bought.

I just like the anolog of something, not computer.

  • Wonderful!!!

  • Where did you get your pedalboard from?

  • I am impressed. Great music. Great editing. Great project.

  • I'm beginning my own pedal project and wonder where you go your switches from. Are you still happy with them, and would you use them again. There seem to be a large number of options. Yours work very well. BTW GREAT Playing.

  • Thank you for this ... I'd love to get a Hauptwerk set-up, and just may some day in a few years. I love your playing ... clean and very stylish! I play the a minor as well, and am almost tempted to re-learn it using some of your ideas. Ornamentation makes this come to life!

  • Very amazing. I'm trying to make mine pedalbod. Go sample to follow to....

    Congratulations!

  • or I can make it

  • great to hear a question where you got the midi card

  • Hello I have a full size pedal board with M.I.D.I. adapter but using reed switches in stead of micro switches( no chance of dust getting into the switches. From D Marquis

  • Very nice playing! With microswitches you need position them near the limit of the pedal key's travel. Do you notice the deeper depth of touch than a standard pedalboard which typically fire about mid-way down?

  • @UnfortunateBystander

It looks like he uses foam pad to activate the switch, something he may regret when the foam disintegrates. You could place the switches so the end or side of the key slides past the lever and activates it. Or place them at midpoint, where keys move much less. The keys should not have excessive end or side play, or they could unintentionally trigger.

  • Awesome project. I'm waiting on the pedalboard encoder to arrive. Then I can start my project. I bought the reed switches from MIDI Boutique though.

How Much movement do you get out of those expression pedals, and what did you use to mount it?

  • Hi this is brilliant - thanks for the great vid!

I have purchased a pedalboard recently but whoever midied it did a terrible job, so I need to redo it. The way you've done it looks great.

Can you post where you got the switches from please and the model number?

    Many thanks

  • if you no anyone whos interested in 2 sample sets .. EM skinner and virginia plus plus licence key on ebay . type hauptwerk in search on ebay . £400 !! both sets

  • Sweet. Good job! Wow. Thanks for showing this!

  • I just wanted to comment on how good your playing is. A lot of people can judge, but unless they are putting themselves up here, they shouldn't say anything. I wish i was able to play like that.

  • Man, that's something great you have done!!! I'm also planning to do something like this, but now I realised that it may be difficult to learn to play on pedals... Is it hard to learn playing simultaneously on pedals, something like this, for a person, who has only played piano? Widor's toccata, has a very simple and slow pedal bass melody in comparison with this.

I'm really impressed of your work and playing on these pedals even more.

  • Thanks for the kind words! Most organists start off as pianists... so I think you have a good start! Good luck!

  • @zorkb1 - Start of with music that has very simple pedal parts and work from there. I recommend the 8 short preludes and fugues by JS Bach. The one in F major is particularly easy - even I managed to learn it in a few sessions. In fact it is the manual technqiue in a couple of spots which I need to work on most!

  • Hi again - what microswitches did you use -what brand and type? Do they snap when closed or are a reed switch variety? thx, and good luck

  • With out a doubt the finest socked performance I have ever seen! Excellent implimentation of the pedalboard! The Behringer will sum itself with anything ahead of it. Midi combiners are readily available. Thanks for this beautifull video !!!

  • No one has said anything about the music in this clip - really great performance, and which I will add to my clips.

By the way, what type are the three keyboards you have?? And how do you merge the five different midi signals from the keyboards and the Behringer device?

  • The top two are M-Audio Keystation 61es keybords minus the plastic casings. The primary manual is a Roland F-130e digitial piano.

I have several MIDI-USB converters which go through a single USB hub to the computer.

    Hauptwerk/windows figures out the rest!

  • Where did you get the swell shoe unit with the pedal pistons? Please let me know. Thanks.

  • Thanks for your note - this is a Behringer FCB1010 from ebay. Really great programmable device and well worth the money.

  • BLOWN AWAY........AWESOME

  • And the end result is amazing !!

  • Quite the setup! Amazing how one can have a Skinner organ in their home without the major cost and setup! Definitely gonna have to build me up something like this ..when I can find the time. Good Luck

  • Pretty cool! Sounds nice! Thanks for sharing!

  • Very nice.
