Falsetto is one of the most natural things for them to have done, look at Robin and Barry's blend, is that not just as beautiful as the classic three part harmony?

Too Much Heaven for example, Maurice on low, Robin and Barry on high, gold, it was by no means 'unnatural noise', and even if you did think that, credit Barry and Robin for being 2 of the best high pitch noise makers of the past 50 years.;)

And its not as if they used it that often, started full flow in 1976, ended in 1979.

It was a similar sort of style to the Staying Alive soundtrack they did in 83, except they took the sound and advanced it as expected and we got the E.S.P album, which has some brilliant songs on it, The Longest Night is probably my favourite, you wouldn't even know it was from the 80's, where as Crazy For You're Love is a classic example of 80's pop, so its a nice mix.
