  • Republicans should have expalainsed to the public that if you require Insurance companies to provide MORE services then our premiums will go up. It seems like a simple concept, but I don't think most Americans thought of this before this law was voted on.

My premiums have gone up big time since this law was enacted.

  • I am not a Democrat but I have to agree with Ms. Mikulski. She is right :)

  • @sirdorkster Why not promote the HSA's which appeal to our strengths as a capitalist society. To admit defeat and turn to a socialistic solution is a cop out.

A better solution will emerge, believe it.

  • @MaHaRushie Oh I hate my HSA. While my husband's HSA insurance is better than the one my company offered... We pay about 40 a month and then have to pay over 6000 out of pocket on non-preventative stuff. If I had my companies HSA, We would pay 330 a month and still have to pay over 6000 out of pocket. Which my rate seems to be the "Majority" of people's rates .......

  • @Blisteringwinds It would require a lot of education because people have come to expect things like healthcare to be free. Its not. To expect the govt to be able to handle it in an efficient way is crazy.

Social security, Medicaid, postal service, public education, welfare are all examples of how well they handle things. Where do libs get this blind confidence that somehow healthcare will be different?

  • @MaHaRushie

And that has nothing to do with what I said. Congratulations.

  • Her comment that states that the Republicans are "bending to the masses". DUH. That is part of a Senator/House of Representatives JOB. They are to do OUR Bidding!

Yes, they need to come up with the solutions...but they are scrambling since this is now LAW that I HAVE to buy Health Insurance. Did you know, it can be CHEAPER for you to pay CASH/Credit card to your Doctor than to let your INSURANCE "bid" for the services you need? Try it some time! I saved over $300 on X-rays!

  • @Blisteringwinds THANK you. At least someone else here reflects some common sense.

  • It's easy to be against something. It's easy to create bumper sticker slogans. It's hard to lead. It's hard to govern. It's hard to take a stand FOR something.

  • @MarkRosengarten Well then they should be more willing to admit they screwed up on this one.

  • You've got to understand, Re thugs are cowards. They have absolutely no solution to the health care crisis in the U.S. They call upon the same old tax credit/tort reform policy of old, which would not assume the health care expenses of the currently uninsured.

When asked, "how will you provide care for the roughly 50 million uninsured?, there is nothing but silence. The uninsured are by far the largest difference between the cost of health care of the U.S. vs. other advanced nations.

  • @trelane227 They view the 50 million uninsured as nonpersons. "Since they are uninsured, they must already be sick, have a extreme pre existing conditio too poor to pay or all three. Either way they need to be "culled"

  • Sen. Mikulski, I love you XD you called those Republicans out. Fantastic job!!!

  • She is angry. That's my state for you.

  • AMEN sister!

  • A Child? a 26 year old child? She is a true ass clown.

  • @MaHaRushie

You're an idiot, my sister has a 26 year old college graduate (mind you, he graduated with a 3.6/4.0 GPA, yet in this economy, he's been unable to secure employment. He owes nearly 100k in student loans, so you tell me you jack-off no nothing. What is he supposed to do?

Oh, I know... according to fuck-wads like yourself, he should just crawl out into the street and die.

  • @trelane227 Well if its a good idea. Why stop there? There are plenty of 40 somethings that are unemployed with kids. Couldn't they use their parents insurance too. I mean they actually have MORE of a reason to need insurance than a young 26 year old.

I'll wait for an answer. I bet I'll wait a long time.

Life is not perfect and expecting the government to make it so is ridiculous.

  • @MaHaRushie

Hmm... indeed, why not just extend a medicare buy in to all those under 65 years old.

P.S. I hope you didn't hold your breath waiting.

  • @trelane227 I guess you didn't catch the sarcasm. No, turning the country into a bunch of pussies who want the government to provide every need is not the answer. Don't allow the govt to play on your fears to take more power over our lives.

  • @MaHaRushie

    Pot, kettle, black?

  • Mikulski would have to have been deaf to have missed all of the suggestions to replace obamacare put forth by the republicans in the senate. Senator Barrasso of Wyoming spoke weekly of the need to repeal and replace with options to make healthcare portable and tax deductible to name a few. All of those videos are on utube, if Mikulski missed the speeches on the senate floor she need only search "Barrasso a DR's second opinion"

  • @barackodinga Exactly. This person has no idea. Anyone whose done their research knows that Eric Cantor made proposals for years that were ignored. Now their still pretending that Republicans have no plan of their own. We're not buying it. All things considered, I'd rather just have a repeal than a government takeover.

  • "pander to the masses amendment" 0:48- An admission that the masses do not want obamacare by Mikulski. Repeal and don't replace, it's the best option!

  • @shooter348 UHH I don't think you heard what she said. You just heard what you wanted to hear. Got a better plan? Oh yeah, tort reform and buying insurance across state lines. That will make everyone who can't afford health insurance or going to a doctor all well again.

  • @exsinor Add HSA to the solution as well.

  • @MaHaRushie Yea, HSA's are wonderful if you have money to save. If you can't afford insurance, you probably can't save enough to cover you needs.

  • @exsinor

I meant to say, she has a 26 year old son.

  • Stupid Americans. Did you really believe Republicans were going to try to create jobs and make health insurance more accessible? Nope. Their highest priority is telling women what rape is.

  • @dizzymasekela Wow. You've obviously never even met a Republican. Why don't you explain, using historical and current examples, to explain how Democrats have created jobs and helped the economy. And, if you want to list history of Republican violence and crime, I can give you an even longer list of violent Democrat history. Please use facts instead of just insults. Otherwise, you look like a complete idiot.

  • @PaddyBoy987 Obama created more jobs in one year than Bush Jr. and Republicans did in eight years. America's biggest deficits have all been made by Republican Presidents. America's biggest job losses have come with a Republican in the White House. Republicans are perfectly okay with fifty million Americans without health insurance. And Republicans have way more domestic terrorists than Democrats - by a ginormous margin. Dipshit, stop wasting your money at Beck U.

  • @dizzymasekela if you wish to have a discussion, please remain civil. You are acting very uncivil.

Second, I've never watched Beck and I disagree with a lot of what he says.

Most of Obama's jobs are construction jobs that last several months.

Oh, guess what happens if someone in a car accident or someone who had a heart attack doesn't have insurance? They get treated anyway.

My problem is the complete disregard for the Constitution.

  • @PaddyBoy987

That person is referring is left-wing and right-wing, not Republican and Democrat. You got to remember that the Republican Party used to be left-wing and the Democratic Party used to be right-wing.

  • republicans, No Ideas, No hope for the people...

  • Liberals and Progressives can count on Babs Mikulski to take on the right wing!

  • way to go girl!
