Hey Hypnotoad, I have a mod suggestion for you. It's called MATmos and it adds ambient sounds to minecraft! Atop a mountain? You hear the wind blowing. Sprinting? You hear the wind rush past your ears. It scans a 32X64X64 area and takes in other factors like what biome you're in and how much light there is to create a realistic-sounding environment.

Btw a trick which have helped me a lot of times, which also can be adjusted to your own preference is when going into a cave. Always place your torch on the right wall, when u want to go back simply follow the torches on your left. And another thing into the cliff in the left cave you haven't explored everything :P your pickaxe broke then u left never to come back.
