you didn't cancel the Final Smash, you just dodged it. I do it all the time when people use Sheik/ Zelda's FS or expecially when people put together the hydra.

Its called a Smash Cancel - when a character is hit with a final smash during invincibility frames caused by something other than being KO'd or getting a starman.

i think it also happens then you activate wolf's reflector at the same time that a final smash is used on him

(it may not work with all final smashes)

It's actually not a glitch, sort of, the reason is if you time your shield right the impact of a Final Smash will lower, but in triforce slash the attack cancels but if you pay close attention your friend recieved 32 percent damage.

Not a glitch. It's simply a Smash cancel, or an attack was used to block it, such as Lucario's Double Team.

I think cancelling a Final Smash qualifies as a glitch.

I have no doubt it was designed that way. He still got damage, so I think it's safe to say that the programmers wanted a way to get out of Link/TS's final without being cheap and still required skill.

Me too. I was having a match with Ganondorf, King Dedede, (Carlos Mencia reference there) and...I forget the other fighter. But, I did the Triforce Slash on Ganondorf as Link and it just cancelled out.

I had something almost like that once. I've also seen people literally counterattack it (Lucario's double-team, Pit's shield, etc). I literally froze in place for the rest of the match (couldn't even be hurt) after Pit blocked by FS with his shield. (This was as Link)
