  • people don't appreciate the art of "loop digging" until they actually try it. sampling is an art form, selection is key.

  • that was ILL! nice job recreating the samples. that track is my favorite on Finding Forever.

  • chicago niggaz got talent boii man my dude this video is hot whats that program you use?

  • kanye may be an arrogant lil ass NOW, but he has the ability to bring back classics for a new generation to appreciate. You have to give the man credit for that.

  • Kanye is a arrogant pig.

  • Inspiring 2 c Common take pride in his art

  • Nice Brother

  • Kanye practically stole the song

  • @TheEazyDuzIt95 Hiphop is all about sampling, and he did a dam good job turning it into a record.

  • dope!

  • this is dope thanx for posting this

  • Dope shit I like how you did this one!!

    DJ MIDAS TOUCH

  • yeah dude I can't find those either

  • It's right after George says "Love's not so easy." At the beginning of the song.

  • @djbman81

True... but its the version from the 'I Love The Blues, She Heard Me Cry' not the re-do from 'Dream On'...

  • YO this was TIGHT big ups to you fam for real.

  • Thanks! I'm trying! I still have a long way to go.

  • talent...pure talent...that was nice

  • Outstanding dude 5 stars.

  • where you get your music bro?

  • 0:59 - 1:09 = Beautiful!

I've been looking for videos of people using the cue buttons for more than just kicks and snares.. I love that choppy-soul sound! Good job! :D

  • this beat is the shit best i herad this year

  • kanye did nothing special as usual

he just uses straight loops man

whats so crazy about that ?

  • The choice of phrases that he did use.

  • yeah it's really nothing special. just loops parts up. and in my opinion that beat was wack. definitely not my favorite kanye beat.

  • dam you just love to hate don't you

  • Yep.

  • if you were a producer/dj you would understand the genius behind it, you obviously are not

  • i make beats. haha. and theres no genius behind the actual flip of the sample. because he didnt flip it. he looped it. and did a double hit like every other bar.

i'm not hating. its my opinion. I didn't like the beat of break my heart. so what?

kanye's still a hot producer. break my hearts just not my favorite beat.

  • I make beats too....the use of the sample is genius on many levels. It's a classic George Duke song...Kanye's particular usage of samples from this song captures the original feeling. Any other producer would have twisted the beat so much that it would have had a different feeling completely than the original song.

You're unappreciation of this shows your lack of knowledge/appreciation of music

  • so you're saying looping a good song is genius? so many other producers could have flipped it better. and sampling isn't about capturing the original feeling of the song. it's about flipping it so you make it your own. what you're talking about is just biting.

and i lack appreciation/knowledge of music?

you're fuckin trippin. go look in the mirror bro. you think this beat is hella hot but it's not.

go get some dilla, premier, pete rock, black milk, alchemist, 9th wonder, ect.

  • oh yeha.

    opinion

    1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.

  • I am still amazed!!!! You are so dope!

We on for this coming Thursday for another lesson?

  • did I put "she"

the hell is wrong with me?!

  • when she says "point of view" (in the original) she extends the word "view", he (kanye) choped the "V" sound and just left,

"iew" which sounds like "you". Alltogether it sounds like "lots of love to give, you".

  • its a guy he jus has a high voice

  • good look for posting this

Thats so cold it remind me of something dilla would do like on donuts just turn a sample inside out flip it and molest it i love it this is what hip-hop is about real hip-hop like early 90's native tounges is what program was that you used can you chop samples on it?

  • which part of the song did he chop for the verse?

  • In the original song, he says "surely you'll break my heart but i'll be there beside you with lots of love to give." Kanye used that part and then another part where he says "someday you'll see my point of view." He sampled the word "view."

  • I mean, on the break my heart song. Did he chop a sample for verse part as well? which part of the song is that, i really can't find it

  • good stuff.....ay show these people how i sampled a jackson 5 song when i put it on my page lol j/k u could dow

  • Great job choppin up a great song and sample.

  • absolutely one of my favorite songs on Finding Forever ... and my fav George Duke joint. great music!!!

  • wow ..very tight my man..i always wondered what song this was sampled from..thanks man

  • How do you like using serrato?

  • Dude, you broke it down hella smooth!

  • my fav cut off finding forever. the duke sample kills it on so many levels. just so easy breezin flowin style. props to kanye for choppin it. great tutorial on it as well

  • nice. someone finnally made a video tellin us how make this track

  • That's amazing how you did that.

  • thanks man!

  • i fucking love that sample

  • simply sickk duke...do u have the instrumentals by the way..i cant find it nowhere

  • If you flip it the way B-man did, you can make your own instrumental.

  • It's crazy how artists (especially hip-hop) take old artists songs and use them almost completely. It's seems like all he added was some cymbals and a base beat...Do you think he payed that group to use the sample?

  • With copyright laws the way they are, I know George Duke got paid for the sample. I wonder though, did Alanis Morissette pay James Brown for her use of "The Funky Drummer" in her "Head Over Feet" song?

  • No one pays for drum break samples. They cant sue them because people could argue that they played the drums them selves and didnt know about their pattern.

  • good stuff man, creative way to rock the cue points and educate at the same time
