  • Thanks for posting this. I used to play it over & over on an 8-track.

  • I love this song! What album is it from ? I have been trying to find it forever!!!!thanks!!!!

  • @MsBluejs Its from the 1978 or 79 album "Headlines" and its was also on a compilation cd, I posted "Andi" which is from that album also. Thanks

  • terrific tune by paul.....never did anything big onthe charts and it's too bad for it's got all the ingredients......thx for uploading it.....

  • Great voice from Paul Anka ! Thanks for sharing ! Like to hear more of his songs since I don't have his CD.

  • hiya im a big paul anka fan have you got any more songs from this album i have the album but its played out lol would love to here other songs please please please!!...lee

  • mrpaulanka, I saw your profile, and see you're an authority on rare versions.

So I'm sure I won't stump you on this one, which has been stumping me since 1979:

Where does the rare version of I Don't Like to Sleep Alone I uploaded come from?

I'd get it from GEMM and upload it for all, if only I knew where from. I'm guessing it's either an early Canadian-only release, or a B side to another single.

I know I can count on you to figure this one out. You won't let me down, will ya? ;-)

  • I'm sure you'll find one at GEMM, but I just might be persuaded to run off a few songs from my own, pristine, copy of Headlines for you, if you can help me on this one!

  • the vwersion was only ever issued as a dj copy it has never been realesed on any album cd etc hope that helps...lee

  • Hell yes, that helps, thank you!

It helps knowing that you've at least heard about it.

Now, don't such "DJ copies" also have label numbers, through which I can try to track one down?

I'll post it for all to hear, and personally make you an mp3, if I can get one!

How did you come to know this - and might you even have one?

I'm sure you're not the only one on the web who knows what you just told me. Can you see what other info is out there on this?

  • I just looked in my Osborne & Hamilton's Record Collector's Price Guide 4th edition (not that I haven't looked before) and of course see no "DJ copy" listed, and no b-sides the song appears on.

There must be as many thousands of copies as there are thousands of radio stations that this was sent to. Are you familiar with GEMM? I'm sure they have it, but I need a label number...

  • @mrpaulanka This IS one of Paul Anka's finest albums, ever. I have been a fan/listener since I was 2 years old, and have never stopped listening. And Paul has never stopped recording and performing. I have both the LP and 45 version of this song. If it sounds a bit like Barry Manilow, it's probably due to production by Michael DeLugg. Great track, though.

  • @mrpaulanka Agree! Every cut on this album is a masterpiece. I wish someone would post "Learning To Love Again". Probably the best on the album.

  • Dan,

Such a beautiful song, the lyrics are what everyone wishes for and sometimes can never be.

Your video is excellent.Thank you for sharing with us.

    Rebecca

  • "As long as we keep believing", that says it all doesn't it? A beautiful song. Paul Anka can sure write the most amazing songs. Great Vid.

    Thank You for sharing,

    Marilyn
