Well sorry, I said it wrong - I know that every country has its own intelligence agency and for a good reason that is, but I just find that the people the Savak was mainly after - i.e. communists, they were the wrong adress. Our problem in Iran were never the communists...ultimately they made the revolution but suffered just as much from the result of it. Mossadegh had many faults but also had many good points. In contrary to what you ae stating, He never introduced the Hijab while he was a prime minister. When he came in power in 1949, iran did not have any money in its treasury and did not do so until the mid 60's.

For instance, he did not extend an anti-Iranian oil contract with British Petroleum. During mid 70's, Iran's economic growth was close to Japan's. Today, Japan has the 3rd largest economy after US & China. Iran's economy ranks 18th. During Shah, Iran had the 5th most powerful military. Now, it's not even on the Top 10 chart. Also, look at IKCO vs. Hyuandai.

It had become an amazing country by the 70's that the world once again looked up to with respect and envy like during the time Persia was great when Cyrus and Darius the Great ruled. I know he was a Muslim, but he was a rather progressive and secular one. That was what earned him the disdain of the mullahs in Iran.
Also, many of Islam's so-called "greatest thinkers" were like Pahlavi. Muslim in name, but apostate in thought. Like Omar Khayyam, Ibn Sina, Hafiz and Ar Razi were like this.

The Qur'an does advocate imposing Islam on non-Muslims. Why do you think Persia fell to the Muslims in the first place? Because non-muslim states are fair game in Islam and are liable to be overcome and sharia imposed.
Also, Islam iposes itself on thers in different ways, as in being forced to wear the burqa or hijab or being forced to pay the unfair Jiyza.

I do believe that many Iranians are tired of Islam and want chage, even to rediscover Zorastrianism, Persia's original and great religion.

I'm muslim and could not live in a sharia based society....in one way its good bc it keeps crimes down, but regardless, for women and other things, I don't think its too fair. Also its almost irrelevant in these times. On top of that, religion is a person thing and irrelevant of nationality, religion and state should be kept separate.

Well sorry, I said it wrong - I know that every country has its own intelligence agency and for a good reason that is, but I just find that the people the Savak was mainly after - i.e. communists, they were the wrong adress. Our problem in Iran were never the communists...ultimately they made the revolution but suffered just as much from the result of it. Shah should have given them democratic rights and an own arena before - I am not communist, but I believe in democracy and co-existence.

I have Persian roots in my family history, but I come from bangladesh. I'm learning to speak persian, I love the language. It is so similar to the indian languages (urdu, hindi, bengali) . I totally agree with your comment, which reminds me of this poem I heard somewhere:

I admit, I also have been very unfair towards Muslims and Islam in general lately, because I was very angry about Iran. Of course, it's too easy to look at this like this. The ones who protested harshly against Khomeini and criticized him were actually Muslim clerics, like Taleghani, Sharyatmadari and Montazeri. Nevertheless, I still don't believe that Islam fits into Iranian culture - no offence, but it's just my opinion and is not meant racist

If you look around the Middle East during Shah's time, Arab nations were desperate for financial assistance. Dubai back then was a waste of space.
Iran's gas and oil power was enormous back then and so, what happened? Dirty Arabs cut a deal with the United States to remove Shah so that they could gain the gas and oil of Iran.
Ever wonder why Dubai is so "awesome" now? and the Caspian Sea is now vastly considered Russian territory? hmm...

Shah did not sell oil to USA at low prices. He inherited a Qajar contract in place from late 19 century, modified by his father in 1935.
As oil demand and supply became tight in 1971, he was the first to engineer an increase in oil prices through opec resulting in price increase from $2 to $6 and then again from $6 to $20 during yam kipur war in 1973.
Know your fact before commenting. Shah had many faults but "selling low oil price to USA" was not one of them.

I used to adore Mosadegh. However, he like Saddam did not know when to cut a deal. He went for the British Jugular, when Brits were reeling from loosing their empire. He could have cut a deal with brits under Truman, whom wanted to find a solution.When Eisenhower won the election in 52 it was all over.
Its so similar to what Khamenei ahmadi r doing now visavis nuclear situation or Khomeini did in 82 when saudis offered $70B for iran to stop the war

Mossadegh has a bad background himself. He did many evil things which I will point out in a video soon with footage and information.
Some things he did was force women to wear Hijab again (like in Iran today) and wanted dictatorial powers from the parliament and closed the parliament once along with many other things. During his time Iran had nothing in it's treasury, thus we had to borrow from other nations when Shah took power back after people revolted.

Mossadegh had many faults but also had many good points. In contrary to what you ae stating, He never introduced the Hijab while he was a prime minister. When he came in power in 1949, iran did not have any money in its treasury and did not do so until the mid 60's.
Shah unfortunately back then was a puppet of British and then from 1952 the americans. He could have worked with Mossi, to bring a true democratic and independent iran if he wanted to. unfortunately he didn't.
