I think this car is kinda pointless, i would rather have an E320 diesel because even though its a tiny bit slower to 60mph you get better fuel consumption its cheaper and its more refined i think.

And they both can still do 155mph.

We have a 2007 Mercedes E320 CDI and its 0-60 mph is 6.8 seconds and thats only a little be slower than the E500, but they both still do 155 and the diesel is cheaper.

@doraemon8061 Some German cars are limited, some are not. And in most cases the limiter can be removed. However, the car in this vid seems to be limited to 250 km/h. The speedo might indicate 260 km/h, but speedometers are seldom accurate. The ECU (engine management) knows the speed of the car more accurately by engine rpm's and what gear is selected.

My 05 TL can accel as fast as your MB and its a HONDA. My buddy has a MB 320 coupe 6 speed and he cant keep up with me "well he was there but I pulled". Again MB is just a name these days again my buddy has electrical prob with his 320 my wife family has the CDI fully loaded 09 MB SUV "not sure of the name", and they had their SUV replaced twice because of electrical prob. Is this an issue with MB? Honda is a Honda cheap and reliable. Another buddy has a 545 BMW and his rad went.

yep, but MB is not just about acceleration, is about comfort, smooth ride, safety and braking performance. In Europe you can't drive Honda TL 2 hours above 120mph. Brake will catch the fire, or will fade, you have hold a steering by both hands and of couse we can't talk about any comfort at all. We know why we drive germany cars if we want to drive fast. Try to push your Honda to 160mph and hold steering wheel by one hand and with other one a camcorder in a traffic on a highway.

@roleup , the TL's are quick sedans, but they dont run even with E500s. The E500 (both sedan and wagon) pull low 14s 1/4miles, TL's pull upper 14s. Even the TL-Type S does mid 14s.

In other words, this E500 will absolutely run circes around any TL. (Especially at top end speeds, as all MBs are geared perfectly for top speed)

i know that different road test sources clocked the e500 4matic wagon at 5.8 0-60 give or take. its crazy though how the the e500s can outrun plenty of unsuspected sports car drivers. im pretty sure the fastest "500" version is the cls500 with the 7-speed, even though its fairly heavy, it was clocked at 5.4s 0-60, and they keep pulling this hard all the way through; mercedes makes insane engines; the 65 amg versions can outrun a ferrari f430 to 100mph! that's what i call insanity.

Das ist ledeglich bei den AMG Modellen so, dass der Tacho bis 320Km/h geht, obwohl auch bei denen ab 250 schluss ist.
