  • well done donny..handsome as all ways..hah little sun spot..good work Mr.J Lynn I hope that we will meet once...xoxoxo for donny the star of Crufts..

  • Why do people cut they're poodles hair like that? Seriously, it looks ridiculous.

  • @84Masterofpuppets

haha i totally agree! i did do some reading on it and discovered that it was because the different cuts keep the dog warmer, (and sometimes cooler). I don't see how it could keep them warmer, buuuuut lololol

  • @84Masterofpuppets It goes back to when they were gundogs. In full coat they would get waterlogged doing water retrieves, but with hair only covering the kidneys, neck, tail, chest and ankle joints, the dog didn't carry too much hair to swim, but the vital parts to allow it to work remained warm.

  • I am in love with this Poodle!!!!!!!!!!! I have no words to describe my feelings !!!! He is just incredibly beautiful and he is the REAL KING of the RING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My congratulations to the owners and handler of such an amazing show dog!!!

Best regards from Russia (Moscow city)

  • ooh..what a beautiful dog :D:D

  • magnifica actitud , encantadora belleza y movimiento, que orgullo para los canicheros del mundo.

    saludos Naty

  • that poodle is majectic!! i only have one question, y do they name show dogs like ch montravia tommygun (a black poodle winner somewhen in the 90s)???

  • Because it makes it easier to tell dogs apart, and it also identifies them to their breeder and owner.

For example, if you breed dogs, and you have a kennel called Blankton, then you can call a dog Blankton Digger, and then if you sell that dog to another kennel, Cornfield, they can add their kennel name (for a fee), so the dog could then be called Blankton Digger at Cornfield.

It's just easier than having hundreds of dogs registered as 'Digger'.

They don't get called that at home though.

  • ooh that make sense!! =) thank you!!

  • Also the "ch" stands for Champion so the poodle had won some sort of competition and the name is a kennel club name so as genderbenderphile said it makes it easier to tell the dogs apart.

  • @VictorianLyddie Champion in Uk means the dog won 3 challenge certificates from three different judges (Best of Sex, where the judge think the dog deserves to be a champion),

  • I like the way they made thr poodle look :)

  • Jason and Mike : Donny looks great running around the ring...he is soo gorgeous with such a beautiful coat. He is having so much fun and looks so happy. Good Luck!! tomorrow, we will be watching.

  • I really hope Mike and Donny win! But tomorrow it's going to be such stiff competition with the top winning dogs!

  • Best of Luck Mike, Jason & Donny for tomorrow, we`ll be watching, Carol & Faye x

  • My opinion? If anybody deserves to win Crufts 09 it's this guy, he's been getting better and better the whole time, I've been following some of his British wins but this is the first time I've seen him on the move, gorgeous, Standard Poodles rock.

  • I can only agree with you, genderbenderphile!

  • Haha, thanks, I was disappointed he didn't win, but the dog that did, the Sealyham, absolutely spectacular!
