  • so who's original song is???

  • this guy can't sing this song

  • LOL Roy Wilson :)

  • Comment removed

  • Fuck yall Disturbed is fucking awesome and has a life unlike these people

  • @BAMAISBACK13 what is disturbed?btw....the main element of energy is missing.....Phil Collins

  • Let us say for argument's sake that Phil Collins sings this much better. It still owns.

  • where's phil??

  • super

  • @Daniel93082 Disturbed :') Nobody even knows that shit.

  • simply: sht

  • WTF is this?

  • who the fuck is disturbed?

  • this song suckkkkks disturbed kills this one any day

  • WOW, PHIL!! That wig looks real!

  • disturbed plays it way better

  • awful. stay from phils songs

  • @bnelms22 it's not phil song. it's genesis' song. there is a big difference

  • I've listened to "Calling All Stations" a few times. Some songs are good, others not so good. Ray Wilson has a great voice, but it's not really suited for Genesis. I think there are only two people who should be singing for Genesis, Ray isn't one of them

  • got to see this tour (Birmingham NEC Feb 1998) I was only 10 at the time - wow this brings it all back :-)

    Ray Wilson = WIN!

Genesis werent given enough of a chance because Phil wasnt singing/drumming - enough said.

  • he's not bad to be honest but that album Calling All Stations was a big fail, sounded quite good but sold hardly any albums. I prefer the old genesis with Phil in the late 70's going into the eighties.

  • this is FUCKING BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Phill colins! he is the best singer! ever!

  • @firesave17

    was

  • wow good job. This is overall my favorite genesis song, and believe me, that's a hard pick.there are so many great ones. I saw them live in Houston back when and I think about it just about everyday how wonderful and magical they were.

  • 8 September today - Ray Wilson's birthday :)

    Happy 41st Birthday, Ray!! :)

  • I love this guy's voice, I know it must be some sort of sacrilege, but I have to say that I like this song better with this voice - I think it fits very well with the song, and the voice is beautiful, I will definitely search for more songs sung by him now!

  • saw ray wilson a couple of months ago in magdeburg. he was great. good singer, very unique voice and superb entertainer. well done, ray!

  • Genesis is good, regardless of who's singing - Peter, Phil or Ray :)

  • muy mierda no puede cantar ni darle el sabor ala cancione arriba phil collins

  • i give this guy credit. good singer and it isnt HIS fault phil left for a short while. i thought ray wilson put good input into the band for the time he was in.

  • this guy is a great singer also.

  • who the hell is this guy?

  • like both versions... however Phil's version rocks more than with this other dude...

  • epic

  • I didn't like this version at first, but it's grown on me. People who have nothing to do but rag on Ray need to get a life.

  • this sounds very well with this kind of vocals

    Actually it's beautifull also

  • It was that time when Ray Wilson and Nir Zidkyahu were in the band. Collins is still better! Rutherford, Banks and Collins for the win!

  • The song is very good, but this singer can't sing it right, like every other song where Phil Collins sings, only congo is good with that guy.

't's hard to know that tey never going on tour again.

    GENESIS IS GOOD!

  • This guy should be executed!! what a crime, what an insult to genesis fans!!!!

  • ridiculous !!

  • THIS sucked^^singer made it sound like jazz or pop LoL^^Phil is so much better :D

  • it sounds like disturbed version ... NOT GENESIS

  • CRAP.

  • this song was made befor disturbed even was a band. and it is not hard to TAKE a song away from another band.

  • ray does not sound good singing any of phil's parts.

  • Disturbed cover imo but without this disturbed wouldn't of had it so its kool since genesis wrote it but i like wat disturbed did with it disturbed for ever :P

  • It's Genesis C.1998 with Ray Wilson on vocals.

  • Ray Wilson is good in his own right, but I agree that Phil is much better

  • This was never gonna amount to much really. I felt sorry for Mike & Tony. It's just poor karaoke

  • Phil is better

  • THIS VERSION ROCKS PREFER

    RAY WILSON THIS VERSOIN BUT

    PHIL COLLINS IS A GENIUS

    xxscottxx

  • Wow. I love the original and loooooooooove the video, however, without comparing this group to Phil Collins & Genesis, I really liked them a lot. Something about them struck me.

  • phil is much better than im

  • ill???

  • I think he is a good singer, but phil collins is much better :)

  • patrick swayze!

  • His voice sounds like Peter Gabriel trying to sing Phil songs

  • Lame -_- Original Genesis version is far better!

  • horrible version..

  • Genesis did it better than Genesis.

  • Huh????

  • This genesis is completely different than the old genisis.

Different drummer + different singer = different sound.

Therefore this Genesis is different than the past two Genesises... The first being with Gabriel and Hackett, The second is the pop-based one with Collins as the frontman. This is the third genesis with Ray Wilson.

So I'm saying that Genesis did it better than Genesis, because they are different.

  • why does the chiken cross the road... here's why.. runing away from bad performances.

I fond the answer on the scriputres...Genesis 19.77

  • Poor frontman

  • this preformance is terrible..

  • Disturbed carried this song off better than this, and I hate Disturbed. Should tell you what I think of this.

  • The In Flames cover came before the Disturbed cover and it's way better.

Disturbed can go fall down a well for all I care.

And Lassie is dead... so you do the math.

    MAFF!!!

  • THAT'S NOT PHIL! D:

  • What in hell were they thinking?

  • disturbed is my fav band disturbed for life.. but in no way is genesis lame..

  • basically if u like guitars in music you like disturbeds and if you like keyboards you like genesis. nonetheless both are excellent

  • Another recent example of people ripping off other musicians is the current release of "Forever Young" There is a Rod Stewart Song with the same title, however the current rip off that is circulating is the "Forever Young" Originaly By Alphaville in the 80's. I already caught a couple of guys singing it and they could not believe me when I told them it was a remake of the huge 80's Hit From the band Alphaville. So sad to see people make money off of other musicians hits.

  • ahhh. sweet old Genesis. i have to admit Disturbed did a good job coppieing this song, but u just CANT BE GENESIS!!!!!!

  • and by the way, Disturbed's version of this song is a savage perversion of a beautiful song

  • i like his voice. he's not trying to be phil or peter. he sounds great on the chorus. he actually had a hit with genesis called congo. its a good one.

  • What do you mean "he"? Tony wrote it nefore Ray joined.

  • Mike wrote this song, not Tony.

  • Uhh no he just wrote the lyrics. And I was talking about Congo.

  • What do you mean "he"? Tony wrote it nefore Ray joined.

  • who's the tone-def creep whispering into the mic?

  • did phil collins die? or what happened to him

  • In 1996 he left Genesis

  • y did he leave genisis?

  • yes, but when Genesis reactivate in 2006 he was again in it

  • do you live under a rock by any chance?

  • Wtf. What do you mea "yes"? How does that asnwer his question? Ioper11... it was the same reason Steve left really... he didn't like the band environment anymore.

Mm no that's not right... he did say he missed it. It was... well after writing Both Sides, he wrote it in very much the same way he did with Face Value. And he found that's how he always wants to write, so he left to do that. It was also something like he didn't like singing other people's lyrics anymore.

  • The live version with the original singer Phil Collins is better.

  • This is a lot more mellow than the Disturbed version. They have the same beat though. It's still a good song though.

  • qtip215 you can go burn in hell, im polish so stfu, keep your opinions to yourself, watch the video and don't discriminate the country it's in.

  • haha

  • Damn, it's so low...

  • It's a shame the way Ray was treated. They could have done great things if they went on with him.

  • meh i like disturbed's version way better personally but awesome song and genesis wrote it so i give them great credit

  • This isn't Genesis...

Phil Collins and Gabriel is Genesis

  • Let a band evolve, for crying out loud. It's not like they fired Phil, he decided to leave.....Mike and Tony had every right to move on and evolve the band.

  • I agree. It gave them a chance try new things. I like to think of the Calling All Stations album as an album that would have bridged Genesis back in the prog rock direction. It has pop/prog mix but they probably would have gone more prog if they made the next album that they were under contract to make with Ray.

  • Shut up! And you call yourself a Genesis fan! Tony is the true sound of Genesis, in my opinion. But they're all awesome, every one of them makes Genesis. And in fact Mike and Tony wrote most of the songs... Phil was just the guy who helped put it together!!!!

  • U ppl r gunna h8 me but i think disturbed sings it better. just my opinion.

  • No NO NO....!!! YES THIS IS A GENESIS SONG. Disturbed Covered it. I bothers me so much when newer artists make their money off of other artists music, and then people who don't know the original artist think that it is the a Brand New Song! Especialy a great song like this done by Phil Collins. IT WAS A MASSIVE HIT IN THE 80's WHEN IT CAME OUT.

  • What a statement! You're absolutely right... It was the same with a Phil Collins song called "Another day in paradise" covered by Brandy and Ray J when everybody said, "What a new song!"...

  • Disturbed covered it. As far as I know, the original version is from Phil Collins.

  • Sung by Phil Collins, performed by Genesis. I don't much care for Disturb's version, but it is step above this.

  • didnt disturbed make this song

  • no the genisis origionally made it up disturbed covered it.

  • Actually I like this...Ray's vocal sound is very reminiscent of Don Henley from the Eagles--Genesis and Eagles...two bands that just can't be beat.

  • This guy isn't anywhere near as good as Don Henley, but I do agree that Genesis and Eagles are both great bands.

  • GREAT VOCALS BY RAY!

  • Very few singers can sound as good as the original singer did but I don't blame Mike & Tony for playing it cuz it was huge hit for them. I also think Ray did a pretty good job here & it's really interesting to hear his version of it. But all in all I definitely prefer Phil's vocals cuz you just can't beat the original singer of the song.

  • boooooo phil collins song....leave it to him....and disturbed ;)

  • dont like this!

  • Ok... I really like Ray's voice, but as far as him singing Phil-era Genesis songs, I give him a thumbs down. When he was lead singer, they should've done Peter-era Genesis songs. It would be much more fitting with his voice.

  • i dont agree... peter has a much brighter voice than this guy.. that wont fit either... actually peter and phill sound litter bit the same in one kind of way

  • This isn't genesis...

  • Without PHIL COLLINS is Genesis to low to be good!

  • disturbed is the last shit on this world

  • After you my friend...after you

  • lol shit singer, disturbed do this sooooooo much better

  • He is a good singer, but the problem with him is he isn't getting the audience into it and pumped like Phil did. Phil always involved the audience in the chorus by pointing the mic their way having them say the "oooohhhhh" parts. But as far as Ray's voice, he is good, but he lacks intensity.

  • You are right; there is more to being a front man than being a good singer.

  • Mm but how would you know? You barely see the audience and the mic probably just was't picking them up.

  • ok dude stfu, disturbed version of this song kicks ass, so does genesis original, and system of a down r awesome too, (but disturbed are the best band ever)

anyway, this sounds shitty without the original vocalist back from when the song came out (sorry dont know the name)

  • phil collins!

  • That's poor! A new Live-Band! That isn't Genesis anymore!

  • Not a bad singer at all. I find it pretty interesting to hear. He has a certain rawness to his voice that phil lacks, but phil's voice has waaay more power. Besides that, Ray doesn't seem to know how to entertain a crowd. He's trying hard though... :)

  • I don't think that Collins, Rutherford and Banks care one iota, because every time that Disturbed sings their song, no matter how poorly, it puts money in their pockets.

  • As Phil Collins, the co-composer of the song was not with Genesis at the time this filmed version was made...even so it is far superior to the very poor "cover" that disturbed has out now.

  • It really bothers me that all people under 25 do not know this, and think the inderior Disturbed COVER is the original. Even this is not the original Genesis that oroginally performed the song....

  • Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins, ..ie Genesis wrote and performed this song twenty years before Disturbed. It was a BIG HIT for them in 1986, with its iconic video from the U.K. show "Spitting Inage"...

  • the disturbed version is better than this version, but this is the original version

  • No, this isn't even the original version without Phil haha.

  • I like it, but it lacks the intensity that it had back when Phil Collins sang it live. The drums and guitar just seem almost lazy here, but it's still an awesome version.

  • this guy is good. disturbed version is great too.

  • Please post the rest of this concert. It is most awesome.

  • There was the whole version, it got deleted. The guy who had it, had a whole bunch of videos of concerts. Damn, that guy lived by me. I wonder where he is, maybe we can hook up.

  • Love this version, better than the Phil Collins 1 i think but i do love Phil. Excellent video

  • but disturbed got it from genesis stupid

  • the disturbed version is much better

  • Ray Wilson is totally awesome!

I know that he was never able to substitute Phil but he really is upgrading the song... and they tuned that song a little didn't they?

    nice work. i must admit.

  • maybe he has the song of peter , luckly he doesn't perform with painted faces or weird costumes <cough> peter gabriel <chough> ;)

  • The dropped key makes it sound so stale and melancholy. :(

  • Thats Ray Wilson... I love him :D

  • love him too :D

    pozdrowienia dla ciebie:D

  • Thats not Phil Collins drumming!

  • Collin's singing is 1000 times better. The tone is lower, this singer is cheating. Ain't bad, the band is hot, but this incredible songs really rules in Phill's version. This guy it's a Peter Gabriel's copycat.

  • So -- now that the 2007 tour is about to begin and early footage shows that Phil's singing is pitched lower, does that mean that he's "cheating"?

Wilson sounded like that before he joined Genesis. That's the way his voice sounds. If you want to blame anyone, blame Tony and Mike. They're the ones who hired him.

  • Ray Wilson is not a Gabriel copycat. That is what his voice sounds like. It sounded that way both before and after Genesis. Which is probably why Mike and Tony contacted him and asked him to sing.

  • phil colins voice has changed.

  • Phil Collins wasn't the singer during the Calling All Stations tour.

  • haha they dont look much like the puppets

  • Great! Thanks!
