remember when she did the trl thing with carson daily...well the dirrty performance was live and mtv dubbed the track over her voice....this could have easily been done in this situation too.....i think even if she was sick she would still perform live....but she was under the contract of her old producers and may not have allowed her to sing live sick and there was nothing she could have done about it.

If I remember correctly she was ill a lot while promoting this album. And some shows just have people lip-synch when they are on. Maybe for technical reasons. Not sure exactly.

its for techiniacal reasons and for the saftey of the preformer...homany can sing while you dance, and speak a different language... exactly cell phones and bluetooth headsets interfere with the mics and the singer is left singing without a mic...also the crowd goes crazy..don't worry she isn;t the only one that does this every one does this even actors, because the sound quality is bad...it doesn't make them a bad actor does it...everyone has a reason for lipsyncing

Just because she comes from a Spanish background doesn't mean she know the language. A person has to be taught that. As far as I know she spoke it when she was young, lost it and was taking lessons again. I also read she wants her children to speak the language. I am not sure how good her Spanish was during the time of this video.

She is good singing spanish live, e.g. when she performed "Contigo En La Distancia/Falsas Esperanzas" Live on her Stripped Tour. While promoting "Mi Reflejo" she also did numerous performances Live. The people on this show probably requested her to use the track as they wanted everything to be perfect or something.

Christina is not one to lip sync. I believe she is lip syncing in this performance because she is singing spanish and she is not fluent in spanish so she probably would have had problems pronouncing the words live..

its more of a pre-recorded playback at most thus it sounded live. her expressions does not fit how she normally does when she sings live. well i don't realy care if she is or not as she is a fantastic singer. it doesn't hurt lip syncing sometimes throughout her 10yr career. voice needs a break from time to time :)

She was lip-synching because around that time she was being overworked, sick and her singing technique sucked. So her live voice sucked. Especially compared to her recent performances. I have noticed that many of her performances from late summer and fall 2000 were not that good. I loved the clothes she wore around that time.

Yes that was a good performance. But that was just one. I said 'many' not 'all'. Her MTV VMA's performance was horrible that year. And she had to cancel some tour dates due to illness. I saw her on that tour too and she sounded ok. But she has sounded better.
