Hi there mate! I would like to know how did you manage to activate that menu bar with the presets names and stuff, im trying to activate it, but i can't. I'm going to the setup window but there's no option there to activate it, nor in the front panel, nor in the user manual. Thx a lot
@SoundsAndGear hi there mate! that menu bar on the upper part of the window wich displays the preset name, there's also a keyboard icon in there! Which host ur using? I use ableton live, and it just displays the GUI without that menu bar. :(
@agauerm I don't remember, it was like toybear mini host or something, lets you use vst as a standalone. But in Ableton all the presets show up in the menu down by the wrench icon where you open and close the gui.
love the sounds but I have plumped for Gladiator 2 double the price roughly but so much more power, I don't know if Gladiator2 and Firebird are similar with CPU but in Ableton it is no problem, any other host seems to struggle to handle it! :D
Gladiator2 Sawtooth and Firebird Sawtooth are exactly the same. I dislike the sound of a saw from Tone2 ! And i tried both synth in a demo, and i would prefer Sylenth1 !
Get Gladiator 2, whatever the latest version is.I prefer it to Omnishere. The Atmospheres set to 'ultra' quality sound like Gods being born, recorded in 5-D and than routed through a Fuck-You-Verb (whatever that might be) Can't get enough of it.
@BevisFriend2010 I have Gladiator 2 as well, I wouldn't say I prefer it to Omnisphere, but I agree that the ultra quality settings is magic lol....your description of it is very vivid lol. Thanks.
@bobbywashington depends on which workstation and which vst and which one you're looking for. Most of the time you can find vsts, especially sampled instruments, that sound better or have a higher quality, but most of the workstations are programmed and designed to sound great right out of the box. I think it's a matter of taste and what you're looking for. I am personally still considering getting another workstation just for the speed of accessing the sounds, etc.
@bobbywashington I had a fantom and sold it, recently been thinking about getting a motif, I like the firewire streaming option so it integrates well with the computer. It's not needed, but just something I been thinking about getting.
@nurofiend yep, it's all good :) there's plenty of choices out here for all of us, that's the beauty of it! We don't all have to like the same stuff to enjoy making music.
Firebird has so many great presets on there to play with it's hard to know where to start first.
I have just recently purchased Image Line's Morphine and Harmless VSTI's and as great as they are, I can't believe just how much there is in using an Additive Synthesiser.
Give me Subtractives like Firebird anyday! I think filtering out is alot easier lol!
realy smooth and clear tutorial, you give people a good vision of what we are dealing with here , and it looks very very inovative, the amount of sta peeks is mindblowing , incl the filters and lfo,s is realy great!!, build in effects are all there!! . nice thing , nice upload and naration!!
@Telekon5 hahahaha you rock man , now i see him handling the firebird all the time when the video is on , i even replayed it , and kept in mind its clinton , hahaha nice one bro!!!
hey i need help which synth program thats compatiable with the acid program cus i don't think the firebird can be used as a pluggin with acid program.
i have the acid pro 4 so i'm thinkin it's too old to support vst idk?........and one more question of your experience, which is better to use the software program or hardware when making beats?
im not sure if that one supports vst or not, I've used both hardware and software, right now I 'm using software so it's all a matter of what let's you be the most creative personally, they both are good.
thanx saint joe and my last name is saint remy lol crazy. i only been making beats for 3 months and they already sound pretty good and thanx for motivating people like myself to producing tracks peace.
you'll have to check, not sure if 4 supports it or not.
the best is whatever you feel the most comfortable with, everyone is different and I've used both. At the moment I'm loving software, but for years I wouldn't touch it.
Gladiator is pretty dope. I've never really spent any time looking into or using Firebird, to be honest. It sounds a bit like it's big brother though. Gladiator isn't my favorite, but it's definitely great for programming certain sounds -- I could easily see Firebird being as such also. Cool stuff man.
thanks for watching, I had a few people tell me they liked firebird better than gladiator, I assumed they would sound the same with gladiator offering more features. It's all preference I guess lol.
bruh ! um a software fanatic so i love wat u b doin with the videos.. but i got a question, where can i found that exact plug in you using cause the ones on the tone2 site dnt look like yours or have that same skin, can you help me out?
just messin around with the default preset on firebird is fun. I love HCM arps...

@agauerm not sure what menu bar you're referring to? It's been a while since I did this video.
SoundsAndGear 6 months ago
@agauerm I just watched it again, it may be the vst host I was using. Usually the presets are accessed within the host you're using.

@SoundsAndGearOn the fireberd page near the bottom
It says it IS 64bit compatible

@stratcatavarious it's compatible as in it will run on a 64 bit os, but it's not a 64 bit plugin, unless they've updated it recently

You can change the engine setting though to accommodate for cpu usage.
