Maybe ford sold cummins out, but as of 2008 they were still majority owner of Cummins. Haven't heard or read anything saying they sold any part of it since. But maybe when they liquidated the PAG group and Mazdas shares they could have sold thier ownership of cummins.

All southern rust free panels, the truck has cost me $4000 to build. So when your piezo actuated injection system dumps 35,000psi through a cracked nozzle, or your HEUI needs $2500 in injectors I'll be sitting pretty buying injectors for $36 a piece.

My 99 F-350 S/D is running a 3208T/2 Twin turbo CAT V-8, with Air/Air after cooling a mid/heavy duty Fuller 9 speed, multi plate bronze/ceramic 15.5" clutch and Eaton 3:55 limited slip Diffs. Don't get me wrong, it worked just fine with the 7.3 International, I just like CAT. always have. My K-W is CAT powered and does real well, I pass Cummins on every day and upgrades and through themountains,,, no comparison. If it ain't a CAT, It's a Dog.

Well, it was little more involved than that, but, I now have the perfect pickup. On an axle dyno it makes 830 HP and 1350 ft/lbs of torque at 2100rpm. A guy saw the engine the other day, and asked what I planned on pulling with that. I said, anything I hook up to. He smiled and walked away.

@TurboIDI Yeah, they are monsters, but, the 3300, 3400, etc, series engine are also freaking HUGE. They are Semi truck engines and too big to use in any pickup, without a bunch of modifications. The 3208 is just a little bigger than the engine I removed. Had to fab mounts for it and the fuller trans, and have turbo tubes bent, but aside form that it was a pretty easy swap. Guys at the truck stop always have a bunch of questions when they see the "Power by CAT" badge on the fenders.

Maybe ford sold cummins out, but as of 2008 they were still majority owner of Cummins. Haven't heard or read anything saying they sold any part of it since. But maybe when they liquidated the PAG group and Mazdas shares they could have sold thier ownership of cummins.

@kendrickevans301 Not to bust your bubble but dodge had both th5.9 and the 6.7 in this gen. 06-07.5 mega cab had 5.9 and 07.5-10 had 6.7. Very easy to tell the 06 from 07 by the tail lights. Unfortunatly u cannot see the lights from this vid so could be a 5.9 or 6.7

You do realize that Ford Owns Cummins right? but are contracted with Chrystler to allow Dodge(now ram) to use the cummins motors in the light durty trucks, and thats why ford uses them in the industrial duty trucks.

@sean222007 Not designed for a semi tractor. Semi class Cummins power plants are enormous compared to the Cummins in a pickup. The engine was originally designed designed as an intermediate engine for stationary use and industrial trucks, like yard truck to spot trailers and stationary generators.

I gotta admit i love listening to all the psd vs cummins vs dmax debates. enjoy your $50k truck, I frame up built an 86 f250 with a ceramic clutch 5 speed and ~300hp 7.3 idi. All southern rust free panels, the truck has cost me $4000 to build. So when your piezo actuated injection system dumps 35,000psi through a cracked nozzle, or your HEUI needs $2500 in injectors I'll be sitting pretty buying injectors for $36 a piece.

My 99 F-350 S/D is running a 3208T/2 Twin turbo CAT V-8, with Air/Air after cooling a mid/heavy duty Fuller 9 speed, multi plate bronze/ceramic 15.5" clutch and Eaton 3:55 limited slip Diffs. Don't get me wrong, it worked just fine with the 7.3 International, I just like CAT. always have. My K-W is CAT powered and does real well, I pass Cummins on every day and upgrades and through themountains,,, no comparison. If it ain't a CAT, It's a Dog.

@TurboIDI Thanks. This older guy loves CAT's, always have. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the 7.3, I just like CAT. I sold the 7.3 for $5500, and dropped in the kitty. Well, it was little more involved than that, but, I now have the perfect pickup. On an axle dyno it makes 830 HP and 1350 ft/lbs of torque at 2100rpm. A guy saw the engine the other day, and asked what I planned on pulling with that. I said, anything I hook up to. He smiled and walked away.

@TurboIDI Yeah, they are monsters, but, the 3300, 3400, etc, series engine are also freaking HUGE. They are Semi truck engines and too big to use in any pickup, without a bunch of modifications. The 3208 is just a little bigger than the engine I removed. Had to fab mounts for it and the fuller trans, and have turbo tubes bent, but aside form that it was a pretty easy swap. Guys at the truck stop always have a bunch of questions when they see the "Power by CAT" badge on the fenders.

@TurboIDI Yeah,but it measures about 5" longer and 6" wider than the power stroke. Now a 3408, which I considered, is 20 LX 22 W" bigger. I've been getting the video things a lot lately. If I get time, I may make one. Trouble is, my time is pretty much taken up by running the farm and my gun shops. I just happen to be in my office f**king off a little today. Most days aren't like that. My days average 14-16 hours. Funny, I started the businesses to have more time off. Hmmm.
