The setting of this scene; the Tyrell Corp. HQ, is very ancient Egyptian in its feel, which is appropriate, seeing as the ancient Egyptians were obsessed with life, death and the afterlife, and the major theme of this movie is the existential question of the validity of the replicants' soul (implied by Roy Batty's insistence on his life's extension; thus, acknowledging perception of time, his own mortality and the fear he has of it, something non-sentient beings presumably don't possess).
Great film! So much to see in it. I like how he asks how many questions it took to discover she was a Replicant and he said "I don't, about a hundred, maybe more", makes me think she was a Nexus-7 model rather than a 6. She's a bit like 7 of 9 from Star Trek, a well constructed copy - but terribly 1/2 dimensional. Makes me think about Nicola Six from the book London Fields. Good on the six-axis and always trying to draw that poor guy towards her.
Great scene. I enjoyed the verbal sparring. Sean Young and Harrison Ford are wonderful together. It's the quality of their voices as much as their stunning looks that wins me. I love them both.
I adore both of them, too, and especially when they are together they look incredible. it's a pity one can see Sean Young so rarely in the films. I remember I watched one (some comedy and not a very successful one), and she wasn't even close there to the brilliant role in Blade Runner. Here she is a real gem. To say nothing of Harrison Ford and (especially) Rutger Hauer.
@Nata34Moscow Rutger plays Roy very well. I love the character of Roy. In the short span of his life he achieves a high degree of self-consciousness and empathy: his love for Priss, his sense of justice & the preciousness of life, an acute sense of time & loss. In the final scene when he releases the white dove, Roy articulates poetically & insightfully his insight into the human predicament. Roy - "more human than human..."
This was one of the films back when smokeing was acceptable in movies, and Blade runner does it so elegantly. It's actually used as a transition in this scene.
She's sooo pretty *_*

The best incidental piece of atmospheric music Vangelis has ever composed for film, and a travesty it was left off the rereleased OST.

How they turned Sean Young into this robotic, noir-ish, dark and gorgeous starlet is one of the most amazing things about this movie.

I'm glad they removed the narration from the 2007 remaster, too. I like to do my own thinking.

Sean looks like Betty Page and Vivian Leigh here. She looks like a woman from a 1950s Superman comic book, although her look is more 40s.
