  • Does anybody remember the skit where she was stuck in commercial land? She flushed the tidy bowl man in it. It was the funniest skit I ever saw on television and I've been looking for it for a long time. Any clues as to where it can be found?

  • @wingsuitfreak yeah, it's called product placement. look up carol burnett show product placement. it was on here last week, hopefully it still will be.

  • @wingsuitfreak Yeah! I was just thinking that! She did several versions of that skit, I think! Didn't she wallop the Pillsbury doughboy when he walked in? Or Josphine the Plumber?

  • @wingsuitfreak I think that's the one called product placement.

  • dead on impersonation of bing crosby!! X D

  • Better than those lousey tv commercial spoofs on "SNL" or

    "Saturday Night S-!"

  • does this show still air on TV? i mean, obviously not new episodes, but is it on re runs anywhere? this is an amazing program, and i wold love to watch it on TV.

  • I think it still shows on the TV Land channel. Go to tvland(dot)com.

  • Great Bing Crosby impression. . .

  • The Carol Burnett show was really wonderful. I watched it as a kid (in the 80's) and we always talked about it in our Theatre Arts Class - I remember one girl said, 'OMG, does EVERYONE here watch that show?!' And, of course, we did! I wish it would come out in boxed DVD sets. Thanks so much to Tabstarkin for posting these gems!!!

  • I went to amazon(dot)com and saw multiple volumes and boxsets out :)

  • @blondfashionista oh, it must be on dvd somewhere, try amazon.com. I should get carol burnett on dvd, she is a true knee slapper.

  • @blondfashionista the show aired in the late 60's to 70's. (1967-1978)

  • @blondfashionista you know you can purchase it from public television... i don't know how much though? you give the donation, and get the entire collcection!

Thank God I grew up with this show on TV and I'm old enough to remember it.

    Frank in Killeen, Texas

  • Who's the woman in the butter commercial? It's not carol or Vicki, but she looks familiar. I'm talking about the woman who plays the wife.

  • I think she is Helen Reddy

  • Thank you.

  • That is Helen Reddy

  • That's Helen Reddy.

  • He wasn't a cast member,but he was a guest a few times.

  • When was John Byner ever a cast member

  • You people may miss the point on the Minute Mail Orange Juice part. He is imitating Bing Crosby, who had part ownership in Minute Maid.

  • Were these real commercials?

  • These were parodies of real commercials.

  • Damn, Lyle Waggoner was hot.

  • you ever see his picture in playgirl? wow!

it comes up in a google search of his name under the image tab.

  • I used to watch this on Sunday nights on CBS. Funny as hell!!! I thought the Tidee Bowl man commerial was the funniest.

  • Saturday nights, 10pm

  • Wasn't Ms. Burnett's show on Sundays in its final (1977-78) season?

  • No, it was still on Saturday nights. She did do a follow-up summer series called "Carol Burnett & Company" in the summer of '79, just for the heck of it, I guess. That one may have been on Sunday nights; I'm not sure, though I think it was also on Saturday nights as well.

  • I love the underarm stain commercial. They always did live shows, so that was his real expression when she ripped the tape off. Hilarious!

  • Which brand of underarm deodorant had the whole "stain" business spoofed here?

  • Also . . . here's what the Benny Hill deodorant parody looked like, for comparison (starting at 1:10):

    watch?v=EKEmiOOdj0M

  • Or for a better quality version, starting at 2:07 -

    watch?v=eRb-Ua3K1qw

  • I've always loved the "Improper Margarine" bit.

  • hi Museleaders. my comment about "The Gong Show" was not for you but-YOU KNOW WHO.

  • haha im sorry but illuminutti and man975dog fighting is kinda funny, guys its youtube!!!!!!!!! No matter how much you insult eachother, neither of you will feel insulted, because you don't know eachother, but i was just looking for comments about Carol Burnett and i found yalls, i don't want this comment to be taken out of hand, I am just saying that its pointless insulting eachother unless you know eachother in real life, oh and i almost forgot.....

    go carol burnett!!!!

  • i agree with you. this why i will make only one more comment to "illuminutti" and then i'll say "farewell" to him. he isn't worth talking to. not at all. as long as i don't communicate with "him", i'll feel much better here.

  • I just checked out NUTTI's page, no big surprise, he has one friend, I can't imagine why!! Apparently he also has no life either, other than annoying people on youtube, but give him credit, he does it very well!!!

  • kw47wa...

    Incredible deduction...

I have no friends on youtube therefore I have no life? You have it all turned around. It's idiots like you that have 200 friends on youtube, facebook and myspace that have no lives, you ass.

  • I wish we still had hilarious shows like Carol Burnett on TV.

  • hi kw4wa. the comment I made about being STUPID was not for you. it was for that stupid nut called "illuminuti".

  • I'm finished man975dog. Hopefully if I run into anyone again, it will be you and not the illuminating NUT!!! See ya =)

  • LMAO!!!! He sounds just like Bing.

  • 3:45 lmao

  • I understand that. It's no biggie, but I was just making the point that you could say,"It's time once again for the annual..." but you can't say "time once again for the seventh annual..." because you can only have the "seventh annual" once. It's just a case of someone meaning one thing but using the wrong words to express it. Like I said, it's no big deal, everybody knew what he meant; I just pointed it out because this is written by professional writers and they screwed it up.

  • Who's the genius who wrote that line, "Its time once again for the 7th annual Carol Burnett Show Awards...." You can only have the 7th annual award one time.

  • The reason it was "7th annual" was because this bit - from Oct. 6, 1973 - aired within the series' seventh season. Every year they did a string of commercial parodies in one block such as this.

  • These Carol Burnett versions of those famous TV commercials were funny, but the one where that man gets orange juice poured on the top of his head while wearing a hat and lying down, I didn't think it was so funny. I think the name of that man was comedian John Byner. Now I remember. He was a very famous comedian for television during the 1970's.

  • Poster man975dog, that one was making fun of a REAL minute-maid oj commercial that BING CROSBY was featured in, and JOHN BYNER nailed the impersonnation. Also feminist-singer HELEN REDDY played the "dutiful" wife. Very funny if you are old enough to remember the times.

  • man975dog

Dude you are so freaking annoying man!

Stop trying to give everyone an encyclopedic rundown of the stuff that others posted.

We all watched these shows, we all grew up with the Carol Burnett show.

    We all know Tim Conway.

We don't need your descriptions of the shows with which we're already very familiar.

No one is asking you for a synopsis of the shows, the comedians or the details.

    GOD! You're annoying!

  • frankly i think your comment is very ANNOYING and very PARANOID too. you need to get a grip and a hold of yourself or else you will have very serious problems with people in the future. And this ain't a Carol Burnett JOKE!!!

  • Wow! From TV show commentator to psychologist in one leap! Not bad for a stuffed up "That 70'S Show" wannabe.

  • your comments are STUPID and so are YOU. GET A GRIP. And furthermore if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all and-SHUT UP. your heading towards very big TROUBLE with people.

  • You, on the other hand, believe others should pay attention to your knowledge of a fucking TV show and it's cast as if no one knew how to look that information up.

  • You presume people NEED your enlightening commentary. You ignore what the Internet is all about. There's nothing you can POSSIBLY share about the show that we don't already know, cannot find out on a myriad of websites or look up on Wikipedia or similar online information resources.

    You waste your time.

So return your PC and go buy a microwave. You seem to not know anything about being online.

  • What was that? "your heading towards very big TROUBLE with people." Some form of threat? An enlightening foreshadow of things to come? Or perhaps you think you're better than others just because they can't stand your blithering babble?

Are you mentally underdeveloped? I'm old enough to have experienced the full scope of the human experience, no trouble at all with people of lack of social grace...I'm 44 and have no problem at all WITH PEOPLE. However, I don't suffer FOOLS like you very well.

  • like Carol Burnett said in one of her Queen Elisabeth skits "Have you ever thought about trying out for "THE GONG SHOW""? you would probably get GONGED.

  • Yeah. "Illuminuti" is really a "NUTI", so his name fits him perfectly. AIN'T THIS GREAT? WOW! FANTASTIC!

  • Oh, yes, and that is really mature of you as you proceed to make light of my chosen nickname without knowing the basis or root of the appellative.

If I had known you were mentally challenged and had the intelligence of an eighth-grader, I wouldn't have bothered to enlighten you on just how annoying you fucking are.

  • once a nut always a nut.GET A GRIP. you're heading for serious trouble with people.

  • Why, John Byner. Who also played Euell Gibbons.

  • I remember all of those old original commercials...wow...

  • Poor Harvey. We'll all miss him. When Carol does pass away.. I'm gonna be sad for a long time.

  • So will I. Carol could certainly school today's so-called sitcoms.

  • i think the sad part about Carol Burnett right now is that they don't show her nice show on TV anymore. this is really something to be sad about.

  • that is the downside of it. she still has plenty of energy left in her! she could probably still do it. except it wouldn't be the same without harvey korman

  • i agree with you. she still has plenty of energy in her and it would never be the same without Harvey Korman. but neither would her show. Carol's show wouldn't be the same now as it was in the past especially without Harvey.

  • yes. Harvey Korman did help the show come alive a lot.

  • do you remember seeing Harvey Korman in the 1974 comedy movie of "Blazing Saddles"? I have been watching it over and over again on cable TV and i never got tired of it. It was just hilarious! We owe credit to Mel Brooks too for this type of comedy.

  • do you also remember Harvey Korman's TV sitcom of "The Harvey Korman Show"? it was this show that caused him to leave the Carol Burnett show back in 1977. unfortunately, Harvey's show didn't do well and it was cancelled after only a few months or maybe one season.

  • oh. really? I didn't know about that. I wouldn't remember that because I'm only 14. But it doesn't surprise me that it would be cancelled so soon. Nothing would have surpassed the Carol Burnett Show.

  • Carol Burnett is the new queen of comedy right after Lucille Ball. but when Lucy was around, she was the queen of comedy.

  • Priceless classic! Key moments are Euell Gibbons as psycho ward patient attacking that orderly/attendant, "Bing Crosby" getting his, Lyle Waggoner's hygiene issue causing disgust, and -- well, "Brokeback Precinct."

  • And Helen Reddy as "Bing's" wife.

  • 3:38 on... hilarious!!!

  • Where do you find theses? ther're all so fantastic! thanks!:)

  • I remember seeing this series of sketches in an episode of Carol burnett, boy they were funny. RIP harvey, you will be missed.

  • Thank You Harvey Korman, this world has lost another person as was last week with the passing of Dick Martin.

  • RIP Harvey Korman

  • I will miss you, Mr. Korman.

  • I hope Lyle Waggoner got paid extra for having that tape ripped off from his underarms. That HAD to hurt! Hopefully they didn't need to do more than one take.

  • Please re upload this one for better picture and sound.

  • The Improper Margarine bit proves that margarine is bad for you.

  • OMG he does Bing crosby perfectly!!!!

  • Boy, does he ever!

  • "But I'm just a guy eating toast!"

"Occasionally, I make a meal out of a birch table"

  • "There's also nourishment in the human arm . . ." priceless

  • Wow. Lyle Waggonner in the underarm stain commercial. Speechless.

  • I know! Hot!

  • HILARIOUS!! My favorite is the Bing Crosby/orange juice commercial. He was such a jerk, it's good she made fun of him!

  • @tmattrope Yeah, but Mr. Crosby did sing a duet with the emperor of rock-n-roll on his Xmas special in 1977, and that was cool

  • Well i do!

  • omg, i had the biggest crush on Lyle Wagonner. Wow, they dont make them like that anymore. All you see are "boys" and metrosexuals on tv. :(

  • Cis, I had the biggest crush on Carol. She is such a fox. But we are both in the same place. We will never meet them in person. But, it's fun to fantasize. Isn't it? =Stefan=

  • Check out Mike Rowe..Oh lala

  • Who's Mike Rowe?

  • "I've got these embarassing underarm stains, and I don't know how to get rid of them!"

    "Well I do!"

    *rips armpatches off*

  • I wish I had the same problem he has with his hot tanned muscular body!

  • Benny Hill did a variation on a parody of that same underarm deodorant ad. Only in his version, he's in bed shirtless and he says he hadn't used his deodorant since yesterday and he might not use it tomorrow - after which his girlfriend climbs out of her covers and says, "Oh, please, please use it tomorrow - PHWOOAAR!" That sketch was from Oct. 25, 1972. Based on the guest list, this version was from Oct. 6, 1973 - nearly a year later.

  • Interesting...

  • Yeah but which deodorant were were they both paroding ???! :))));)

  • Benny was parodying Mitchum. I'm still at a loss as to what Ms. Burnett was spoofing, but I'm sure it was a different brand. (Right Guard? Mennen? Sure?)
