Yume Nikki is a good game, no doubt about it. But people spend way too much time thinking up a logical plot when there almost certainly isn't one.

It's weird, I still think even this song has an empty feeling to it... But maybe that's just because I've played the game xD;

This song sounds to me like it's supposed to represent the sky, which you see on the roof. You also get to fly through the sky with the witch in this area, another thing this song feels like it shows.

Every zone has a creepy or odd feel.

You go down some creepy stairs in your dream within a dream, and then you come to an odd basement. If the random number generator likes you, you can go up to the rooftop. So when you get to the rooftop, congratulations you've reached the most peaceful place in the entire game.
