The truth is that "BRICs" are each time becoming closer to what, you in USA, believe to be "1st world".

And USA is each time becoming closer to what, we here, know as "3rd world".

I do not think that people in Brazil or Russia or China should care about "world economy". They should care about their OWN wealth and their OWN standard of living. BRIC countries already control vast natural and human resources, they have huge economic potential, they have large scientific potential, so why should they even CARE for the "WORLD economy"?!?

Globalization is part of the problem, not part of the solution! In fact even a mere thought that a group of sovereign nations should care about changing of the "WORLD economy" is actually a TRICK of the globalist mafia, the same who caused the problems in the "world economy". The globalists destroy the concept of national sovereignty. The solution is DISTRIBUTION not CENTRALIZATION of management/capital/development­. The concept of the national sovereignty can provide that distribution model.

Idea that others should solve your OWN problems is a cause of the problems. The globalization process which offers a CENTRALIZED model has caused all the problems in the "world economy". Of course mutual dependence cannot be avoided, therefore total independence cannot be achieved, but every society should TEND to achieve as much independence as possible! That would provide stable environment where problems in one country (e.g. home market in USA) would not (significantly) impact others.

If BRIC countries manage to 1) completely remove US dollar from their mutual trade 2) largely increase their trade 3) cooperate in scientific and research projects, they will have bright future. BRIC countries should give a shit for such thing as "world economy". In fact even the idea that a group of countries do not care about the rest of the world would be beneficial for the rest of the world because that would provide a pattern for others how to solve their own problems by their own efforts.

My country (small banana republic in the Balkans) is in deep economic crisis because we have quasi-elite of incompetent politicians who ruin our country by delivering it on a plate to the foreign (western) interests. And who helped them come to power? The same ones who colonized the country - western capital. Western capital control majority of the mass media, so they control the peoples' minds.
