  • Hi Remy! Very nice playing as usual, you're simply the best :) Is it possible that you could also teach us how to play 2:23 to 2:51? i guess you haven't taught us that part in your tutorial.we would highly appreciate your huge help for us:)

    xtian

  • Hey There!

Thanks for the comment and nice that's the tutorials are helping you guys a bit:-)

2:23 to 2:51 is basically improvised I guess, I improvise mostly everything where Paul improvises.

So I wouldn't really know where to start right now.

    Best,

    Remy

  • thanks Remy..we'll keep in touch:)

  • super 58 pickups?

  • So...Many...Mids...Oh...My...God!

I LOVE your tone on this song. I think the Engl does it better than the VM in the original recording.

  • nice one remy! lol," Hit the button dude!"

  • that 900 is ssiicckk remy

  • how long did you work on 1:50-2:05? it's reeeally hard...

  • if you have played much Paul Gilbert stuff, like remy, its no more problem to play such things.

Once you learned the technique, you just have to watch, at which frets the notes are.

  • i know all the notes, i meant how long did it take to play up to speed. the notes are just classic Paul Gilbert string skipping with a litle extra thrown in.

  • i agree it is epicly hard haha

  • Damn, I am jealous! Great playing man!

  • really nice job remy!! where can i find the tab?

  • On some of your videos you have colored strings, what kind are they? How do they feel and play? AMAZING playing btw!

  • They're Actually DR-Strings 0:10-0:46

I use the Black Beauties, Peacock Blue, Red Devils & Hot Pink series! Thank you for the comment.

  • Is the peacock blue dark blue or light blue, and are the red devils dark red or pinkish?

  • yay for 10's!!! :DD

i put some in my RG about a month ago and ill NEVER go to 9's again

  • wow man you deserve so much more views...its a shame not more ppl see the true talent in this man. keep it up :)

    Remy

  • Excellent! Cool guitar too Bro!

  • Thanks Mike!

    Remy

  • i bet Paul Gilbert is thinking shit this guy's good! Post some of your own stuff Remy you're a sick player

  • Hey where did you get the backingtack for this? I cant find it anywhere.

  • If you buy Pauls new SFBADR Instructional DVD and Shred Annex, the dvd comes with the back tracks for most of the songs. just not for Suite Mondale, and I still have that other girl.

  • Norwegian cowbell, "hit the button dduuddee" haha

  • can you send me tabs plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It helped a lot of people!

I'm sure you'll find it helpfull!

    Remy

  • Did you lern this by ear? or tab..

  • I'm pretty sure he did it by ear, I haven't been able to find any full tabs to the song, not even on the Racer-X Forum which is full of Racer-X and Paul Gilbert tablature.

  • Hey guys!

Actually I hit the open strings on purpose!

    I don't know why but I did.

I actually noticed when I was recording it!

I guess I did it to keep in time for some strange reason:-)

    Thanx ,

    Remy

  • loving all your videos :)

when you get some time think you could do a tutorial for this song?

also where do you get the backing tracks from?

or have you made them urself?

    cheers

  • forget the amp question i got it.

  • O.K. Dude!

    No Problem!

  • what amp are you using in this vid

  • Wow, dude, that was a brilliant cover! I heard a few mistakes like a few open high E strings, but the rest of it was just so clean!!

You make it look so easy :(

  • i filmed it and i didnt hear any open high E ... as far as i remember :D ...

  • About 1:23-1:26 I swear you can hear an open high E after he releases the bend and goes to bend the next note.

  • no one's perfect -.-

  • I didn't say he wasn't perfect nor did I mean to offend anyone, don't assume what my intents are.

  • yeah i got that open E, it is very short and to me it was just hard to catch it ^^since it sounds very out of context, maybe i heard it like a simple noise like you hear sheets moving sometimes and you don't take it in consideration ^^.

  • nope thats not high e its a b

  • You're right, I just listened to it again, cheers for the correction :)

  • Great stuff.. I went to see Paul Gilbert in London two weeks ago and he was BURNING, he did the heaviest version of Down To Mexico you've ever heard! Going to see him again in 2 days at the London guitar show, hopefully I'll be able to get my PGM signed afterwards at the Marshall stand where he's appearing. Best Gilbert lessons I've seen yet, cheers bro!

  • that was flipping insane dude u rock!!

and really good job on the string skips half way!!!

    lol hit the button dude!!!!

  • you rock remy!

a pleasure to watch your video ;D

    hugs ;D

  • what is the third chord? i know its something similar to F# but it definately isnt F# major i dont think...it doesnt sound right at all. nice playing by the way, great job!

  • Hey Man!

I explain it all the way through....

    Thanx,

    Remy

  • nice guitar!!

  • Doesnt look like the other PGM huh ;D ??

  • Hey Remy, just like to say thanks for taking the time to post all of your videos. They're fun to watch and serve as a great source of inspiration when my fingers are crying!

I'm currently attempting "The Gargoyle" from the same album, but I don't have anywhere near the experience you have, so it'll take me some time.

    Thanks again.

  • Hey Bro!

    Thanx for the kind words!

Go kick some ass on the Gargoyle!

    Remy

    Remy

  • Great cover and nice new PGM! =p Great find! I'm just curious but what gauge strings are on that PGM? 9?

  • Hey there!

    It's 0.10 actually!

    Thanx

  • Wow, you can play that cleanly and fast on tens!? Nice! Does that PGM have sweet low action?

  • Hey there HendrixToTheEnd!

Yes all my guitars have 0:10 gauge strings and the action is as low as possible!

Otherwise it would be crazy doing all this stuff!

    Remy
