Bridge Day, either 1995 or 1996, I can't remember. I was there and was about two people back in line waiting to jump when it happened. I didn't see it, only heard everyone's reaction. As if I wasn't scared crapless enough as it was. ;-)

Still jumped though... twice that day. The guy who went through the chute is named Yuri... a very experienced BASE  jumper. Unfortunately those guys sometimes get complacent and get into trouble.

this is why I only jump out of airplanes...at least if something goes wrong then you have much more time to think...and if you can't fix the problem, you get a great few seconds of your life :)

With basejumping, you could be severely hurt but still live...that would suck.
