I just got a Joe Strain eight foot bullwhip and love it!!! I was going to order one from Dan also, but he was ill and hadn't had time to do any whips because of some health issues. I hope he feels better!!!

Joe Strain also makes an excellent whip. I hope Dan is well soon. When I spoke with him last (which had to have been over a year ago) he had been fighting the effects of a very serious case of pnuemonia, so I certainly hope that this recent illness is one that isn't so serious.

@Delongis46 Thanks! I have a Terry Jacka Indy 4 Bullwhip and it's really nice. Dan Ellefson's whips are superb as well. The plaiting is super tight and smooth and on this particular whip it was nearly impossible to tell where the strand drops were. I'm planning on getting an 8 ft. Morgan style Indy whip from Dan some time later this year. If you can afford to get a high quality roohide whip, I HIGHLY recommend Dan. He's a great guy and makes a superlative whip!

Wow Awsome whip! If you ask me, Dan Ellefson's whips look better than both David Morgan's and Terry Jaka's whips. I really like the way the shines in the sun light.

Awesome vid! I went to their site and had a question for you. How long did it take for delivery after ordering. They seem very vague in time answers. I don't want to wait more than a couple weeks, or I'll just order a Morgan. Thx.

@richardbough Thank you! This particular whip was one that had been made and was ready to ship, which is rare for most whipmakers. Typically there is a waiting list for most good whipmakers considering that there is a lot of work involved with the construction of each whip. The wait time varies depending on the maker and the number of orders ahead of yours. It could take anywhere for a few weeks to many months. You'd have to contact Dan Ellefson directly to get an estimate. Thanks!
