at my school, most of us o-linemen are about 220. our captain, whose 6'0 190 lbs and plays OT made all-area 1st team. its cuz we're a down and dirty kinda line. the #1 LB in the country sat out against us cuz he heard how dangerous we were on cut blocking. im not playing, we've taken down DI prospects cuz we're a small, but mean line

I'm not saying pass blocking is not necessary, its just not something you really brag about as an o-lineman. No offensive lineman gets excited about throwing the ball 50 times a game. It just doesn't give you the opprotunity to control the game. It makes a team sport too much about 2 or 3 guys.

Run blocking is for the fat lineman its easier to go off the ball when you know the cadence and just blow up the dline man. its harder to sustain a rush from a fast dend, dtackle, or linebacker who has leverage.
