Actually Bill Clinton said he'd be willing to take some responsibility on Larry King. However, the surplus was real. I will take exception to this one. The surplus was only a reduction in the rate of growth not a real surplus. You would be hard pressed to find anyone in Washington who is fiscally responsible.

Actually Bill Clinton said he'd be willing to take some responsibility on Larry King. However, the surplus was real. It was real enough to most major econ you talk to and it was displayed on the clock with a nice, fat, plus sign. All we see now, after 8 years is a big fat minus sign..one sooo bad that ea family (who only makes on avg $40k annually) has a debt now per family of over $86k per year. :(

Well winkies, not all Independents are like me, but according to the polls roughly 2 out of 3 are moving away from McCain in these last few weeks. As I stated, we clearly understand the risk with Obama's inexperience, and I am not at all happy about the idea of the Democrats controlling both Congress and the WH. No Obama isn't a socialist either...he is a Marxist. He follows the philosophy of Saul Alinsky, a radical Marxist of the 60's. While a "community organizer" in the Backyards of Chicago, Obama worked training ACORN employees into the Saul Alinsky method of radical change. In the Chicago area, we were "allowed" to see only a short videobyte of this rally and then told that McCain was facing the conservative backlash of his buyout program. WHAT A PACK OF LIES FROM A LIBERAL MEDIA! I have personally been a constituent of Obama for over 10 years. I can tell you that he has done nothing...let me repeat that....nothing for the people of Illinois either as a state or US senator! See if all you angry McCain supporters can understand the following: this election will be decided by Independent voters, of which I am one. I voted for McCain in the primaries last spring, but will vote for Obama next month. Why? Because despite his inexperience, and the clear risk that entails, he has shown thoughtfulness, intelligence, and a willingness to surround himself and listen to very good people. McCain listens to the howls of the angry mob, and has run a poor and disgusting campaign.

If McCain doesn't do what I want, I won't stay home but I WILL vote for Obama. I am an Independent, Indies will end up deciding this election. Playing to his base, the angry mob, does not make us more inclined to vote for McCain.

If all independents are like you, McCain will lose this election. You need to educate yourself on the types of people Obama is surrouding himself with. With a resume of folks like Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Louis Faricon, Saul Alinsky, Hugo Chavez, Rashid Khalidi, and ACORN it doesn't seem like he's running for office in the United States of America. I am angry as well. Mr. Buffet said that he was taxed at 17.7 per cent on the $46 million he made last year, without trying to avoid paying higher taxes, while his secretary, who earned $60,000, was taxed at 30 per cent. The Bush Tax Cuts which are near identical to McCain has Buffet stuffed to the gills..while I work and go to school yet have to scrounge for quarters for gas. I am pissed. Obama 08.

You need to do YOUR research, there was a number of times legislation was introduced by the Republicans in 1990 (When Clinton was President) to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. It was voted down by the Democrats EVERY TIME! It's a documented fact. Go look it up smart guy!

This whole mess got started when liberal Democrats decided banks were being mean by not giving loans to unqualified minority borrowers so they (liberal democrats) pressured banks into giving risky loans to these borrowers. Predictably, a great many of the loans were defaulted on, causing the situation we have now. Have you ever heard of the Community Reinvestment Act? Familiar with Barney Frank and Chris Dodd? Do a little research, idiot!

The Republican Congress introduced legislation several times to regulate the institutions making the loans. They were voted down by Democrat Congressmen every time. The unqualified people can't repay the loans (that never should have been made) are now collapsing the lenders that made them. Your precious Democrats tied everyones hands. Thank them!

You are partially correct. It started on Clintons watch. The Republican congress lost control in the last four years so it hasn't been 8 as some suggest. The damage was done by the Democrats. The Repubs had a chance to fix it when they had control of the House & Senate. Unfortunately at the time the country was too tied up in the war on terror which BOTH parties agreed to. You are correct in that they missed their chance to fix it a second time. The Dems started it.

I remember how horrible it was when that last democRAT was in office. There was a budget surplus of $120,000,000,00. The National Debt was being paid off so the Chinese scum did not own as much of the country. The national debt was at 5 trillion when Cliton left office.

It is the result of AIG, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and others making bad loan risks to unqualified people that shouldn't have gotten them. It was also at the urging of Democrats in the early '90 to go ahead an make those loans because it mostly involved the lower income people who happen to vote Democrat most of the time. Congress wanted their voter base to be taken care of. It has now backlashed and blown up.
