  • Cape Verde is a nice country, i stayed there for 2 weeks. It's cool to know that you are on an island in the ocean.

  • @LoneCuetlachtli The "dominican look" is merely the look of mixed people of African and European descent. The look does not belong to any nationality.

  • I miss my country .....

  • I was born in Cabo Verde ..... nhos terra sabi ...

  • The music of Cape Verde is one of the treasures of the planet. Its various rhythms are endlessly synocapated, recreated, reinterpreted, and reinvigorated by singer after singer and musician after musician. I dream of visiting one day. I am American, of Irish Portuguese descent and speak Portuguese fluently. I will go one day. It wil be a dream realized. In the meanwhile, where is it possible to find any good Cabo Vaerdeano grupos in the States? I'm there.

  • como se chama a canção?

  • I just descovered music of Cape Verde on a compilation CD. It's like the best of all the Latin styles mixed with East Coast African music, subtle and sensuous and simply beautiful. Thanks for posting.

  • Let us never leave our country For so long a time Let us visit it often We’re going far away To seek a better life But living, that’s in our country. This land of fishermen and peasants Corn in the mortar, morna on the lips Sandals on the foot, the donkey carrying its firewood Three stones to support the pot. Although our country is poor We console ourselves Another’s joy doesn't deceive me We have none and we understood it Our kindness hides our poverty. -- tr. gabrielamendes c om

  • Zaijose, I Know that, but facts are facts and I'm just stating that. Before you speak read about the history of cape verde.

  • knowledge has nothin to do wit the kind of blk or Afrcn u r! I hav been 2 CV lived there n hav studied all over the world as a matter of fact! Also, the source that I got that information from was from a CV Scholar!kno ur facts b4 u tell someone else to know theirs! The earth was created so dat we could dwell in any part! If dat were the case (based on your comment that CV had to leave CV becuz of drought) there would nt b people living in the desert in different parts of the wrld 2day!

  • nicely said....i'm so tired of the bull shit myself...all i can say is racism has done its job well....other wise the facts should not be left up to debate....but bravo nicely said..peace..^_^...

  • Thank you for th compliment! the thing that suprises me if when you talk knowledge to our people they get angry-when they don't know the facts!-yah bless-african love forever spreadin the truth

  • zaijose please tell me we where you got your sources from beacause I can asure you Cape Verde was uninhabited before the Portuguese arrived, yes some were raped, but some were consensual. Cape Verde cannot substain life there are too many droughts, which also should lead to the conclusion using logic, Cape Verde was uninhabited if it can't support life, this why the majority of the island's food is from imports. I know my facts and I'm Cape Verdean.

  • know before u talk n read a book n go2 a couple of continents 2 study different cultures and ways of living. The human race can adapt to all forms of living. I guess u guys really dn't want 2b considered African but u r.

  • whoa..BEAUTIFUL..I WANT TO GO TO CAPE VERDE AND BRAZIL SO BADLY..I am a Louisiana boy myself..so we have some things in common..but still really different...

  • I am from Cape Verde and I am living now in New Orleans, Louisiana.

  • @caboverdecreole awesome one love to all my africans. but I never meet any cape verdeans. or even angolans

  • Nice!!!!

  • What does this have to do with Cape Verde!?

    GTFO!! Poxa vida!!

  • Great Job! It captures the real spirit of Cabo Verde. Mi kribu muitu tcheu, Nha Kretcheu.

    Grande Braxu,

  • If it's so great why aren't you there now?

  • Of couse it's going to be the best country in the world to you, because that's your people and your heritage...duh?

  • Interesting mix of Portuguese/African and Spanish Moorish/African influences. Some influences ricochet back from Latin America, too.

  • Cape Verde is a unknown country especially for those who are not portuguese speakers. Cape verde is made of 10 unique islands with a rich culture based on music, gastronomy, dance and much more. We are a mixtured people imcomparable....

  • @6174366951 please can you tell me more internet is limited

  • @6174366951 please can you tell me more internet is limited, do you also speak creole french

  • like reunion island!I love country like this!

  • it seems as there is a lot of similarities between cape verdean and brazilian culture

  • Cape Verdean people can be compared to the diversity of African Americans, Cuban Americans, etc.

  • sounds like a song played at the beginning of 'city of god'. does anyone know if this is true?

  • No, it's not the same song, although the guitar is similar.

  • I am really curious what is the cultral and racial make up of Cape Verdeans? I have noticed that they are the darkest dark and the lightest light with blue eyes. Even the dark Cape Verdeans have blue or hazel eyes. Cape Verdeans are so diverse.

  • European, African, and Arab stock. Very diverse indeed. ^^

    How do I know? I'm one. ;)

  • CV people are no doubt African& their is nothing wrong wit dat.the Wolof&Serup inhibited those islands before the Portuguese came with slaves from Guinea Bissou.why would u want 2 embrace a bloodline that was through rape or ur ancestor serving her master-ignorant as hell!the Portuguese&arabs do not claim u and u claim them-ignorance is a killer-ur an african stop trying to front and be proud.the PT used CV as a port to switch the slaves out to Sth A,Cen A,the CARB.&2 the US-know ur history pls!

  • E3A Haplogroup... an African lineage, however, the majority of Cape Verdeans (circa 70%) are mixed Afro-Portuguese. In the Americas, people from the Caribbean/Brasil and U.S. African-Americans share roots with these people. their country stood between Africa and the Americas during Maafa.

  • I agree with you. I am from Jamaica and I took a mtdna test that came back U6b. I never expected that result. I think your history should be taught in American schools.

  • Cool, the Moorish Queen... I haven't received my results yet... by the end of December, beginning of January 2008 I will know.

  • Cape Verdean R Africans!CV was inhibited by the Wolof&Serup(2african tribes) before the Portuguese came with slaves from Guinea Bissou.the portuguese used those islands as a stopping port to switch out the slaves-like all blk people distributed out into the world they hav mixes in them due to African women being raped&by force-CV people are no different from any other blk people in the world-we r only different because of all the languges dat we speak.

  • educate your self beause you are a fool.

Cverde was uninhabited before the portuguese arrived.

  • How do you know this?

  • excelent
