Pvp in this game sucks because they use the hero engine which was crap in warhammer online also. Everything is lagging and moving in sequences and its plain boring. Animations get stuck , dmg doesn't land and so on. If you played warhammer you know what im talking about. Battle grounds are basically players seen as cardboards that warp on your screen while your cardboard(ur toon) get dmg from all sides. Just random warping of cardboards, stupid.

I didn't bought WoW when I first played and I loved it, same goes for GW and WAR. It's a shame WAR died, but that's not the point. However, I tried Swtor, AoC, Rift and Aion and will never buy these titles based on the fact I don't like the way they play. Please, tell me why it is better than WoW.

I loved WoW through about burning crusade, but dont really like the direction they took after. This has been a ton of fun for me so far, im amazed how well you can level through pvp too, mixing it up with the storyline is a lot of fun.

Infact one should compare this game to wow even if wow is 7 years old and has improved alot since beginning. Both games are now and both games are mmo. If wow is better now i'l play it until this game gets better, if it does. It's as simple as that.
WoW pvp is lame anyways it changes with patches and doesnt take much skill , arenas are segregated on class combination and has been ruined since wotlk. Battlegrounds lack teamwork and world PvP ceases to exist . This game will beat WoW in every way possible, oh and its not cartoony the graphics look smooth and realistic to say the least.

@Br1ckh34d It is opinion. I just don't see how pvp in an enclosed battleground that has no impact on the world around it is superior to world pvp. The background for this game is a Galactic war. All planets should be battlegrounds. This game has the potential to make pvp a galaxy spanning, dynamic, player created, fluid battlefield. Battlegrounds make pvp a repetitive, linear experience. You really don't agree? I'm not saying it's game breaking, I'm still looking forward to the game.
@flo1fication I actually prefer World PvP, I love the idea of the galactic war - but bear in mind a huge percentage of players prefer PvE without someone camping their corpse for hours on end while also throwing in some PvP now and then, which makes battlegrounds ideal for them.
SWTOR is too static for a 2011 MMO...EA can do way better...(that nothing compared to a next gen no monthly fee MMO, if you see what I'm thinking :) ).

I played beta-weekend and i will tell you it's nothing like WoW :) All the ones saying this obviously haven't even played the game or are just plain simply sad that WoW will be destroyed when SWTOR releases. Every server on beta was full to the max I can just imagine how many people will actualy be on there when they have the chance to play the game not just be invited to play it :) it's An awesome game not like any other, just give it a try don't bitch about something you know nothing about :)

Talent trees sucked ...last balance talent was hurricane, and there was 5point talents that adding +wand dmg. Also, no target of target, no casting bars etc. People compare the beta of star wars mmo, with a 7 year old game..thats stupid
@Nightwolf1926 WoW was also the first game of its kind basically. It was ahead of its time. No other game had successfully done what they had. So it wasn't very hard for this game to take some of there ideas and one up them. Its 2011 and this is it? this was cool in 04..
@Nightwolf1926 Exactly, WoW came out 7 years ago.... At it's release it did have other MMOs to look up to, but has since then set somewhat the "chasis" for MMOs. Now any MMO that comes out KNOWS that it needs BGs/WZones, Raids, talents, etc. Im not saying WoW was the first to use them, but it has deffinetly added to it. But mind you this looks a lot better, definetly gonna play it, downloaded, patching, ordered, and my key is otw :D

@ishroom321 Your right its nothing like wow in terms of popularity but the game itself is a sub standard mmo with SW lore and a unique story mechanic. Aside from those unique aspects it is exactly like wow. Theres even skills in this game with indetical descriptions to those from wow. Just came of the final beta. Sources: Years of mmo gaming experience, professional games programmer.
It IS quite a deal like wow combat-wise. Besides a few more skills and I'd say SWTOR is flashier. However, The talent's in SWTOR are quite a deal better designed then WoWs. I'd say the only thing keeping the game from overall just being better is some animation cleaning. And some more end-game.

@ishroom321 You obviously haven't played the Old Reublic beta, OR you're just trying way too hard to demoralize other games. SWTOR is very, very much like World of Warcraft, but it is also like RIFT, Everquest, Aion, the list goes on. SWTOR is a very, very refined MMORPG. It has its differences, correct, but nonetheless it's very much like other games. Saying it's nothing like World of Warcraft only makes you soiund like you haven't played the beta, which I'm sure you have, so don't say that.

@Prophet0a No, just no. I can judge if I'll like the game or not by playing it few hours, simply because it doesn't respond to what I like of an MMO. I didn't bought WoW when I first played and I loved it, same goes for GW and WAR. It's a shame WAR died, but that's not the point. However, I tried Swtor, AoC, Rift and Aion and will never buy these titles based on the fact I don't like the way they play. Please, tell me why it is better than WoW.

@fromagelatin8 I respect your opinion, but you don't need to say it'll die. You don't know that. Theres only unfixed bugs because its a brand new game, they'll be fixed eventually. I'm sure WoW and GW had a lot of bugs when they first came out..

SWTOR was fresh imo with it's Mass Effect inspired stories and decisions and such even though STrek, EVE (Space MMO) and others have been out.
Rather play SWTOR than your random medieval MMO.

I hate how everyone here says its crap compared to WoW keep in mind I'm a WoW vet since it started, and played ever since, wow was amazing when it came out, but went to hell after BC, SWTOR, is amazing now. I switched. WoW isnt fun anymore, and get outta here with " nice game, bad fuckin player" bullshit, the game is still new everyone is still getting a feel for there classes and combos, Bitch!

Im so glad it doesnt have the wow feeling ive been wanting to try something new and i think this is it tried ff online, eve online, and rift. None of those felt like they were any diffirent than wow except eve but i reallly dont like sandbox mmos. This looks hellafun hopefuly ill get it for Christmas

I loved WoW through about burning crusade, but dont really like the direction they took after. This has been a ton of fun for me so far, im amazed how well you can level through pvp too, mixing it up with the storyline is a lot of fun.

Infact one should compare this game to wow even if wow is 7 years old and has improved alot since beginning. Both games are now and both games are mmo. If wow is better now i'l play it until this game gets better, if it does. It's as simple as that.

WoW pvp is lame anyways it changes with patches and doesnt take much skill , arenas are segregated on class combination and has been ruined since wotlk. Battlegrounds lack teamwork and world PvP ceases to exist . This game will beat WoW in every way possible, oh and its not cartoony the graphics look smooth and realistic to say the least.

How you can ever compare every game to wow? wow is a great game, you can't say it isn't! I played wow for 2 years and I had a wonderfull time with my friends in azeroth! but I am waiting for a new adventure now, callled Guild Wars 2! it is going to be awesome. I am not going to buy star wars even it looks very cool... but everyone have his own experience and his own needs in a game, find your own and have fun instead of comparing every game to wow.

@Br1ckh34d It is opinion. I just don't see how pvp in an enclosed battleground that has no impact on the world around it is superior to world pvp. The background for this game is a Galactic war. All planets should be battlegrounds. This game has the potential to make pvp a galaxy spanning, dynamic, player created, fluid battlefield. Battlegrounds make pvp a repetitive, linear experience. You really don't agree? I'm not saying it's game breaking, I'm still looking forward to the game.

@flo1fication I actually prefer World PvP, I love the idea of the galactic war - but bear in mind a huge percentage of players prefer PvE without someone camping their corpse for hours on end while also throwing in some PvP now and then, which makes battlegrounds ideal for them.

Coming on this vid to see inquisitor PvP, naturally giving in to the youtuber reflex i scroll down to the comments and see a dictionary's worth of bitching over SWTOR being better than WoW and vice versa. Just know this.. the time you spend writing essays on what to hate about either game (that wont change anyones opinion on anything!).. is time you could be using to play the game whos ass you're currently nostril deep into.

I played beta-weekend and i will tell you it's nothing like WoW :) All the ones saying this obviously haven't even played the game or are just plain simply sad that WoW will be destroyed when SWTOR releases. Every server on beta was full to the max I can just imagine how many people will actualy be on there when they have the chance to play the game not just be invited to play it :) it's An awesome game not like any other, just give it a try don't bitch about something you know nothing about :)

People disrespect WoW because it's the king of MMOs and has had more success than any others, and continues to stay that way, and people need to "rebel" and talk shit about it. I'm going to laugh when SWTOR only has about 4 servers with barely anyone on them.

@Spitefox lol you sir are living in a fantasy, the beta had 3 hour ques with over half the servers full to the max. WoW is on the decline. The only response to the game ever since Cata has been negative. Stop fanboying your terrible game and be open minded for once. I was a big wow plahyer myself, after playing SWTOR, The environment is so much better is amazing. The ONLY thing that it doesn't have over wow is the amount of end-game which can be rectified.

@nemesis50 WoW had almost no end-game at release... Had no battlegrounds... pvp was only ganking ppl that doing quests. And Pve was only 1 raid, molten core + 1 raid boss, onyxia...
Talent trees sucked ...last balance talent was hurricane, and there was 5point talents that adding +wand dmg. Also, no target of target, no casting bars etc. People compare the beta of star wars mmo, with a 7 year old game..thats stupid

@Nightwolf1926 WoW was also the first game of its kind basically. It was ahead of its time. No other game had successfully done what they had. So it wasn't very hard for this game to take some of there ideas and one up them. Its 2011 and this is it? this was cool in 04..

@Nightwolf1926 Exactly, WoW came out 7 years ago.... At it's release it did have other MMOs to look up to, but has since then set somewhat the "chasis" for MMOs. Now any MMO that comes out KNOWS that it needs BGs/WZones, Raids, talents, etc. Im not saying WoW was the first to use them, but it has deffinetly added to it. But mind you this looks a lot better, definetly gonna play it, downloaded, patching, ordered, and my key is otw :D

@ishroom321 Your right its nothing like wow in terms of popularity but the game itself is a sub standard mmo with SW lore and a unique story mechanic. Aside from those unique aspects it is exactly like wow. Theres even skills in this game with indetical descriptions to those from wow. Just came of the final beta. It IS quite a deal like wow combat-wise. Besides a few more skills and I'd say SWTOR is flashier. However, The talent's in SWTOR are quite a deal better designed then WoWs. I'd say the only thing keeping the game from overall just being better is some animation cleaning. And some more end-game.

@ishroom321 well the game looks a lot like wow and its almost the same mechanic and all,but yeah i played 2 time on beta testing and it was not the same,i think the game is great but somehow a bit uncompleted,hopefully 1 years or 2 after launch the patch and dlc will put the game at it full potentiel.

@ishroom321 You obviously haven't played the Old Reublic beta, OR you're just trying way too hard to demoralize other games. SWTOR is very, very much like World of Warcraft, but it is also like RIFT, Everquest, Aion, the list goes on. SWTOR is a very, very refined MMORPG. It has its differences, correct, but nonetheless it's very much like other games. Saying it's nothing like World of Warcraft only makes you soiund like you haven't played the beta, which I'm sure you have, so don't say that.
