He has Sung for many new comers- music director's for a token one rupee. Rafi saab, such a generous soul. He has never objected to sing with any new singer and he would encourage and guide them. He was the most gifted singer of indian cinema.Very kind hearted and simple sufi saint.

Sadhana was so beautiful prior to her illness!! Took very little effort for the ladies in those days to glow on screen, true Indian beauty!! Loved her since i was 5yrs old and wished to look and walk like her!! She was the 60's style icon who introduced her famous churidar pyjama and kameez combo in her beautiful figure, which every actress imitated for many years to come!! Miss those films and days....

Rafi sahib passed away 30 years ago (30 July 1980), but his legend lives on as his voice still continues to entertain and amaze millions around the world. No one replace humble, modest and pious Rafi sahib who changed Indian film playback and music industry forever. He is a book on how to sing. His playback voice changed the fate of many Indian film actors, and made them superstars of their time. I am honoured to have met him, be his family's neighbour in London-UK. RIP Mohammed Rafi.

so it is actors that sells the songs or composers or lyrics...?? for me personally it has to be meaningful words and tune then the actors ....not the other way around....you listen to the song always then you either love it or hate it...you dont like the song just for the actors in it...

Was rafi saab really underpaid? I heard he had given pancham's musician 5 lacs when that fellow was in tough times... what an angelic person

He was underpaid when he was alive, and his family receives no royalty. He was too generous, and even sang free for producers who pleaded poverty!
