Ace is one hell of a performer...I truly believe his lead put KISS on top...I saw Ace in concert about three years ago and he was awesome. He had a malfunction with the black Les Paul that is loaded for smoking and we got to see the smoking guitar twice. We were pretty close to the stage and Ace smiled at my young daughter who was attending her first rock concert...He's a nice person.
I have seen kiss 6 or 7 times over the years, but will NEVER go see them again unless ACE and PETER are there. It's just not the same kiss. I bought my first kiss album in 1976 which of course was Destroyer, hot off the press, and have been a true blue fan forever, but today "kiss" is as sold out as a bitches hair weave!! Ace is the TRUE rock & roller of the group.
That's my favorite guitarist in the universe! The Space ACE! I love his style, he brings his soul out through his guitar. I don't care so much for shear bumble bee speed and technical mumbo jumbo, I want heart and soul, and Ace is THE man!
The only thing that could have made this even that much better would have been for the rockets to shoot out from his guitar at the end of his performance.
I remember reading an article in "Circus" magazine, 35 years ago. KISS ONLY wears Silver & Black. No other colors may be worn on stage. It seems to me that Silver & Black are an anathema in Arrowhead.
In fact, the very first time I ever remember a MNF intro with a band, it was KISS before a Raider MNF game.
How cool....he really played it well. Of course it's a stripped down version of Jimi Hendrix's version at Woodstock, but Ace really held to the timing and feel of Jimi's.
Ace doesnot need them to mention KISS. He is a rock GOD. If you are that new to music, i understand. Gene and Paul have made the name KISS a total merchandising joke. At least Ace is keeping it real
@sfchase Without mentioning KISS the average person knows who he is.After all he's not on in 84 countries as $immon$ is.If people knew who he was , he could pull more than 300 people into a club to see him.
Ace wont ever be considered one of the more technically gifted players ever lol but damn if he isnt the coolest guitarist ever.
