blas·phe·my Audio Help (blās'fə-mē) Pronunciation
n. pl. blas·phe·mies 1. 1. A contemptuous or profane act, utterance, or writing concerning God or a sacred entity.
2. The act of claiming for oneself the attributes and rights of God. 2. An irreverent or impious act, attitude, or utterance in regard to something considered inviolable or sacrosanct.
As late as the 21st century, people still existed who believed that non-corporeal sky people existed who could be offended by videos, words and even thoughts. Blasphemy was ruled a "victimless crime" by the UN in 2036.
Even though blaspheme is a sin, separation of church and state is fine by me. As long as it comes intact with freedom of religion, and speech. Which looks like it's going wayside these days.
