what modifications did you have to do to the door card to get the speaker to sit flush? on mine i had to cut out the 3 holes that the standard speaker screwed in to and it still doesnt sit flush, what metal work did you do? you mentioned it in the video, thanks
A lot! Haha and the salesman said they would fit right in! I cut out the back plastic on the door panel, and tool a cut off week and made the circle in the metal bigger. DO NOT let the speaker touch the metal. Trust me, VERY BAD! Haha. then i just drilled new holes in the plastic door panel and used 4 small bolts and nuts to hold the speaker on.
@jrproductions88 haha yeah if the speaker touches the metal it'll probs earth out lol ive found another way to do it, make some rings out of MDF to mount the speaker to. cut away all the back part of the door card where the speaker sat, so that you can fit the ring through it. drill some holes in the metal and mount the MDF ring to the door, then screw the speaker to the MDF. this was you have a solid mount and wont have lots of vibrations from the doorcard :) should get a much better sound!
First off, do you already have the amp connected to the sound source? Usually through RCA cables but with a stock stereo it is a little more tricky. If you do, I think there is a pin behind the stock radio for an antenna motor... this would also work as a remote start. Other than that I am not all that familiar with hooking amps up to stock stuff. I know it can be done I'm just more familiar with aftermarket equipment. Sorry, let me know if I can help with any other questions.
