One of my very favourite Songs, Play it when-ever I feel down. Lost my wife recently, so I found this again, and playing it. It seems to buck me up, so thank-you for uploading this.
I'm 18. When I was around 7 or 8 I was assigned this song to sing as a solo at school but I lost my voice so I never did it. I'm DETERMINED to sing this song in public one day!
If there is anyone who has a copy of Out Of Town in better condition without all of the crackling that can be uploaded, that will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Fantastic and I all the still know all the lyrics from the early Out of Town shows, funny how the old brain box works not having heard this for maybe 45 years.........
this is brilliant i first heard it in a one foot in the grave tv episode :)

Used by Southern Television as the first 'Out of Town' theme (presented by Jack Hargreaves.
Used until the early 70's.

We had a David Shepherd, so he was of course our school's pie fatality.

"Say what you will school dinners make you ill
And Davy Crockett died of shepherd's pie
All school din dins come from pig bins
Out of town"
That's how I remember it, though sometimes it was Mother Nature who died of shepherd's pie!!

Seems every school had its own version. Just wish I could remember the final lines we sang. Probably come to me in 30 years time!
