Actually that isn't the case. It's more like if i take a bow and shoot an arrow. The tip and the end travel both at the same speed. Same with light and darkness. Darkness can only appear as fast as light can disappear. So i wouldn't clasify that in any way, shape or form as completely true, or even remotely true.

@NuclearSimon you do realize that that is an incredily slow speed right? that is slower than people walk. that being said, technically darkness doesn't travel, it just appears, so there is nothing faster than darkness, as you can't get faster than 'instant'.

@kingofbudokai Darkness doesn't travel at all, it's not instant, it's constant. When light energy is present, it permeates darkness, it doesn't replace it. They both exist simultaneously. When the light goes away, the darkness continues to exist. Otherwise, darkness and light would both have the same speed. Neither would be physically possible to be faster or slower than the other, without affecting the other's speed. Make sense? Simple laws :)

@kingofbudokai It's possible, it's the only way for them to exist. Light exists via different wavelengths, both visible and invisible. Nothing is absolute when it comes to being lighted, therefore some darkness must exist. Also, if the light becomes absent (takes off at 186,000 mph), the darkness must be there to fill the void or it would be ... inexplicable. Darkness dampens light, or it would be 100% light always. I hate to use a play on words, but it's ... simply not black and white lol.

Yes, but if there was no light then there would be nothing to describe the absence of it because there would be no way to differentiate between places where it existed and places where it never was. Basically, darkness would no longer be darkness. Instead, it would be that thing that everyone ignores because it's everywhere and it never changes.
