@futurebestseller84 Probably because A: They are just having a quick go and they don't have a huge belt of ammo and they want to enjoy it not blast all down range in 2 secs or B: Its an old and expensive weapon and they don't want to damage it or C: they want to try and actually hit their target or D: Small bursts is the proper way to shoot it and probably also a bit of E: You and your entertainmet value while watching Youtube is probably the furthest thing from their mind.
@futurebestseller84 alright calm down. It wasn't mean't in an awful way...i was just listing out why no one probably shoots a huge burst. And all I was sayhing is that they probably aren't thinking of people on youtube and what they want to see because they are preoccupied shooting the MG 42.
@vcsniper556 haha I totally understand that. I have only been around MG42/34s firing blanks. Im a reenactor; in my country New Zealand you can own full auto weapons BUT not live fire them. Blanks are okay but I would kill for the opportunity to fire one live.
u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and paste to be saved
@MrPennyworth007 a machine gun that a civilian can buy needs to be made and registered before the 1986 ban. That means there are a limited number of machine guns to go around making their price high. plus this is an mg42 that is much older and not many were bought back to united states. But an average automatic assault rifle like an M16 will cost 10-15 thousand.
@Kaptk112 i know ppsh to me is the coolest sub machine gun and best auto but mg42 to me just pure badass number 2 of all my guns ppsh number 1 just because its fast i like ammo wasting ammo with guns
@crelesa Much more slower RoF, difficult barrel-changing( MG42-> about 6-7sec Browning-> almost a minute), + No way(or very difficult) to carry/fire with it in assault mode.....
the MG42 can't accept a "NATO barrel" (7.62x51),it's not exactly the same size.
And I never heared a "MG42 V" it's pure legend. And the incredible rate of fire of the MG42 was a real problem for MG-gunners during last month of the war,it was very hard to have amo when they want.
And the MG42 used gaz back, for recoil the barell, each bullet fired',the barel recoiled. the AN94 do the same thing
Actually no, the recoil from the gun would make the tripod stand on that leg often leading to it tipping over, so soldiers either removed the front leg and mounted it on something with the 2 hind legs for support or turned it around... and the SS and Falschirmjagers fired it from eachothers shoulders, the "mountee" would hang onto the 2 front bipod legs while slumping over... it actually worked well!
The MG42 is no gasloading gun and the rate of fire is by ~1500 rpm. The MG3 which use the German Army still today fires 1200 rpm because it use a heavier breechblock and the caliber is 7,62x51 instead of 7,92x57IS.
holy crap did you guys see in the background? some guy was shooting an mp40. where do you people go to shoot these ww2 guns? i always see on youtube people hooting all these ww2 guns? are these all somebody's personal collection? is there i place i could go in the state of arizona do shoot all these guns?
the unbeliveble thing about the mg 42, but only in ww2 , how longer you pull the trigger the fire rate comes higher and higher . 1200 bullets in a min is normal , but it can happen that the gun fires 2500 bullets in a min. (sorry for my english - i'm german )

Any body know whats the best ammo for m-53 in 8 mm? I have romanian and yugo.
yugo sucks the shells don`t chamber right and the primers sink in side the case.
I think I have a bad batch the 12 yr old making them over there was drinking some strong shit.

where is your video of you going full auto with an mg42?
vcsniper556 2 years ago
I dont say I have a video of it, I only say most people fire in burst, just a few people go full auto
MIMIMYBF 2 years ago
thats because you dont wana ruin the barrel
because they are expensive to buy

thats cause i paid alot for 8mm ammo.

Why do they mount the MG42 like this? if you change the mount to 180° it will be a lot easier to handle the gun

im a wwii re-enactor

basically on some models of the mg42 they would have it as an anti-aircraft gun
thats a common tri-pod for aa guns

its the 7.92mm

its 7.92x57 and they round it up to 8mm. With different barrels it can fire 7.62x51 I believe

@vcsniper556 Yeah, the MG3 of the german Bundeswehr is essentially a MG42 chambered for 7.62mm and a few other modifications.
