So... I was thinking about getting into Warhammer 40K - I was gonna buy the Black Reach starter set, but seeing as how short this game was, and seeing the expensive-looking armies, I've got to ask: Are games typically this short (in terms of turns)?

Just in case nobody told you, Obliterators are not each a unique member of their unit. Which means that two unsaved wounds = 1 dead obliterator. You can't spread your wounds across the models because they are all the same.

I love to see the look on Tau players face when they put a dozen railguns on the table and I bring out boyz by the dozen. Even speed freaks love the match up - they just start dismounted , ignore their vehicles blowin up and walk inevitably towards close combat victory waaaaagh!

@Redleader001 actually you know to sit back and shoot with tau is one of the worst tactical errors you could ever make. if he was playing gunline tau then your opponent was an idiot! you need to keep it meachanised and kroot are more than capable than tearing through TEQ troops in combat and in shooting.

@ColdShadow3993 that was his dad and he didnt say anything to me. Me and his dad are good friends but his son and me is hit and miss. Besides he doesnt play tau anymore. He moved on toe necrons and spends 1/2 of his 2000pts on 2 monos and a nightbringer. My little bro killed him with only 1k pts of dark eldar :)

@arktheball No where near as fun as playing Deamons and playing them in a way where it takes them four turns to realize they can't shoot and are surrounded by combat, no offense but Tau are a really bad race, and to be honest so are Necrons, now to be honest IG are worse, but still, i hate just shooting, i prefer charging in and crushing as much as possible if i know i can't win, it's alot of fun.

And I think that you might get a better fight out of my tau force then you might expect :) And if you hate shooting...its good you play khorn (not pronounced kron....) or orks :) sall bout da krumpin ;) or the blood god what have you :D And I play space wolves so I agree charging in and krumpin is fun :) but so is blasting a cc unit off the table with one or two squads >:D and having 12 more togo

@cvhinson1 Because for example, every game i play against them i surround them, so no matter which direction they turn, they are in combat, they are useless without shooting, which they can't use when stuck in combat, and i don't just play Khorne, i play Khorne, Nurgle and Slaanesh, not just Daemons but CSM too.
