The door should have something to prevent it from getting too close to the heat source...... obvious I would have thought. Bad design for sure.

The owners manuel does not address the door opening into the heater and this was not discussed in the walk around purchase. Also the lighter fluid was stored for travel only so dont think I keep the fluid there all the time.
