  • Doubling the debt in two years, is that worth a place in the Guinness Book of Records ?

  • "I think it is a shame that the first president this country has ever had has caused this much of a problem. Ever since the founding of this great nation, way back in the year of our Lord 2009, President Obama has done nothing but spend!"

Is this what goes through the average republican's mind on a daily basis?

  • I thought it was a bushload of debt

  • Most of the extra deficit incurred under the Obama administration was from TAX CUTS, so stop complaining. If Obama didn't cut so much of Bush's high taxes than the deficit would be back at 8 trillion.

  • @zasabiibasaz No, the deficit is from the President SPENDING.

  • @CommonSenseJoe Really? The president just pulls out his 'ole wallet and spends the money? Seems like you want to hide something. I wonder what that might be.

  • @Republican4Jayzuz President Obama has spent tremendous amounts of money in his first few years. The debt is not all his fault, but the budget deficit is definitely his.

  • @CommonSenseJoe The House controls the purse strings. Or is today, "The House is responsible for nothing!" day in Republicanland? I can't keep track anymore.

  • @Republican4Jayzuz The House controls the purse strings NOW, and they are cutting off the spending. Look who is screaming the loudest, the President and Democrats. He and the Democrats had the control and spend like there was no tomorrow. Well, guess what! There is a tomorrow and the spending MUST stop. Playing the blame game must stop. We need to freeze spending and scrap the tax code completely. We need a flat tax with no exemptions or credits for anyone. We need to pay up our debt.

  • @CommonSenseJoe So, you agree that Republicans in the House passed a budget conducive to a huge deficit? Or do we just ignore that and hope no one notices? Playing the blame game must stop? Boy, what a hypocrite you are. Yes, we do need to pay up on our debt. Good luck doing that with no new revenue.

  • @Republican4Jayzuz I agree that BOTH parties have spent too much. I agree that presidents of both parties have spent too much. The point is that WE MUST STOP SPENDING. More revenue will not fix the problem if we don't stop spending. Like I said, we need to toss out the tax code completely. However, we can do it with just the revenue the government gets right now.

  • When the economy collapses their won't be a Republican or Democrat party to hide behind. Just remember that.

  • I was about to hit the subscribe button till this video quickly turned into a pointless partisan blame game. It doesn't matter if the Cola or Pepsi party wins in 2012 because it's about to be too late. If you look at the Republicans' deficit plan and ignore the hype it's the same as the Democrats. They both want to RAISE the nation's credit card limit, turn a blind eye to the federal reserve, and only cut a small amount of our spending.

  • Oooh! I like pointless math.

    How about this one:

    - Our national debt is around 14,400,000,000,000

    - The number of atoms in a human body is around 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

We'd have to spend $14 trillion over our budget every year for 486 trillion years to reach the number of atoms in a single person (just 1 person). That seems statistically insignificant!

A more relevant statistic would be the fact that if you average our debt to our population you get ~$46,200 per person.

  • 2000 budget: 1.8 trillion 2011 budget: 3.7 trillion. Has your life improved 2x? Nuff said.

  • These R and D scams are such a big lie, being an outsider I really don't understand how you guys can fall for this.

It is not just Obama, it are both parties that are fucking you over day after day.

I can only laught while watching this unfold.

  • When bush took office the national debt was six trillion dollars and if he would have done nothing this debt would have been paid for. But he added to that debt three trillion in tax cuts we lost about three trillion in revenue because of slower economy and then he added about six trillion of spending largely due to 2 unfunded wars and a Medicare drug benefit and a lot of other things. So instead of paying off the debt we had a 12 trillion debt at the end of the bush administration

  • @MrBudtcb No, A tax cut is not a spending increase. other than that i agree with you.

  • @MrBudtcb According to the IRS, revenue went up after the tax cuts. Revenues were higher when Bush left office in 2008, in fact, than when he started under Clinton's higher tax regime. You are correct, however, that he spent way too much.

  • @MrBudtcb: "... we had a 12 trillion debt at the end of the bush administration."

You are mistaken. According to CBO’s historical budget stats, at the end of Bush’s last term the deficit was 3.97 trillion (but let’s call it an even four trillion, for comparison purposes). This is indisputable FACT based on nonpartisan CBO accounting, which is mandated accurate by CFRs.

Obama has increased deficit spending by 10.4+ trillion in less than four years, according to nonpartisan CBO accounting.

  • @PoliticallyBlazed

The debt at the end of the US fiscal year 2009 was $12.867455 trillion (almost $13 trillion).

The budget for FY2009 was submitted in 2008 to the 110th Congress by George W. Bush to fund the government from October 2008-September 2009.

The end of a president's term does not mean the end of their fiscal policy. Their policy remains until September of the year the next president takes office (to give the newly elected president 8 months to prepare and submit his own budget).

  • @Platolitics: “The end of a president's term does not mean the end of their fiscal policy."

Although you are correct the CBO doesn’t report in the way you apparently believe. Now when one factors in other elements, which is common for some folk (including CBO for various scoring reasons), the numbers do rise dramatically. Yet Bush’s historical deficit as reported by CBO is 3.97 trillion.

The latter is available through CBO historical records, should one care to research.

  • @Platolitics: “You obviously are very confused."

And you are clearly quite arrogant, I gather in defense of Obama’s CONTINUATION of Bush fiscal policies. Now reread the last sentence of my last post to you only this time, move your lips while mouthing the words. Such requires grasp a flea to comprehend, and I presume you’re beyond that.

...Please don’t prove the latter wrong with more parsing nonsense?

  • @Platolitics: “I can tell you to go to the Library of Congress to read up on how George Washington created the internet, but that doesn't mean it's true."

    ...I was wrong. (Flicks flea)

  • @PoliticallyBlazed

You might as well say Bush's arm weighs 10 pounds but Obama (his total body) weighs 180 pounds so that proves Obama is 18 times heavier than Bush.

One (deficit or just weighing an arm) is only part of a total. The other (debt or weighing a whole body) is the entire total.

Comparing part of a total to an entire total is either a deceitful lie or complete misunderstanding. I assumed you were just ignorant and that you were not intentionally being manipulative. Was I wrong?

  • @Platolitics: "You might as well say Bush's arm weighs 10 pounds but Obama (his total body) weighs 180 pounds so that proves Obama is 18 times heavier than Bush."

Hmmm, seems the bloodsuckers are everywhere.

  • @PoliticallyBlazed You don't know the difference between the debt and deficit, do you? Your answer plainly shows this.

  • @Republican4Jayzuz: “You don't know the difference between the debt and deficit, do you?"

And evidently by your take, neither does the CBO. Or are you simply aiming to defend Obama’s record? (Just wondering.)

  • @PoliticallyBlazed .. July 27, 2011 former deputy asst. treasury secretary for the bush adm. Bruce Bartlett and also a policy adviser for Ronald Reagan (quote) The CBOs projected a 6 trillion surplus during bush adm. Rep. keep saying that tax cuts are the key to prosperity and the 2000s is evidence that's not true. The republican playbook will say the deficit is never caused by tax cuts or wars.

  • @MrBudtcb: “July 27, 2011 former deputy asst. treasury secretary for the bush adm. Bruce Bartlett and also a policy adviser for Ronald Reagan (quote) The CBOs projected a 6 trillion surplus during bush adm. "

Your statement says nothing, and proves nothing; but then, when one has no point...

  • @PoliticallyBlazed Well then let me spell it out, CBOs are not always right. I'm not democrat or republican I'm just an American who believes in truth and doing what's right but I have voted both ways. And trust me the republicans after what they have pulled will not see a win in the next presidential election. Did you notice when john Mccain was speaking on the floor how he praised Reagan administration and then jumped over the bush administration to blaming obama for all our debt..

  • @MrBudtcb: “...CBOs are not always right. ...republicans after what they have pulled will not see a win in the next presidential election.”

Wholly imbecilic; no proof CBO is wrong here, it bears historically high accuracy, and poll after poll shows Obama’s reelection prospects in the toilet. “It’s the economy, stupid” (thank you Mr. Carville)! Whereas likelihood of economic growth prior to 11/12, is slim to cotton-picken none.

Please borrow a mind before demonstrating, you’ve lost yours.

  • Run over by the bus Obama and the Democrats are driving? If the Republicans weren't repeatedly slashing the tires we would have made some progress by now. These videos are all so simplistic.

  • @beta447 I'm not giving republicans a pass here, by any means. but we see where democrats are trying to take this. so yes they would of made great strides in burdening us and our economy with debt and a depression. probably would of raised taxes too. the only answer is to cut spending.

  • And no matter what there will be idiots that will still vote for him in 2012. Rigid Ideologues!
