Reality has absolutely *nothing* to do with "right wing/ left wing". Policy and behavior and education has to be dealt with by the merit of the issue and its surrounding factors.

Regarding gun control, the fact is that if you illegalize guns, only the criminals and government (and that line is fading) will have them. Maybe do like the Swiss: Everyone gets a gun and military training. They have 1/10Th the crime of the United States. I don't know about their per capita standing, though. Anyone?

Edith admitted in one episode that if they moved out they would be dead within a week. the best episode was when mike got beat out for the teaching job in Minnesota to a black guy, and the reason was racial quotas! hahaha Karmas a bitch aint it!!

@frc1968 I dont approve of any of those things, my point was that Mike needed archie more tham Archie needed mike, and that Mike was all for equal rights until racial quotas took something from him. Any legal system that puts one group ahead of another is wrong. Personal bigotry is wrong but government supported bigotry is evil, and fuels personal bigotry. I dont care what people do but when it affects me is when I have a problem with it.

The Second Amendment reads, "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED." Citizens were expected to be armed since we had no standing army then. The Second Amendment DOES NOT specify which type of guns should be owned by private citizens. Nothing is criminal about a gun, but the hand who holds it. It was written into the Bill of Rights for citizens to defend our freedom against any agressor.

Archie is metal. All American households should have at least one proper select-fire rifle per member like they do in Switzerland -- WITHOUT government regulation. That's what kept the Japs out of the continental US, a rifle behind every blade of grass. That's not to say we should limit ourselves to rifles. Combat shotguns, submachine guns, and even homemade "garage" guns all have a place in The Peoples' arsenal.

The problem is that the liberal platform tends to lead to oppression of individual rights more often than the conservative though it is not always the case. It is a fact that socialist views inherently end with oppression of the individual. History has proven this fact time and time again. of course religious conservatives will often oppress individual rights but that is a separate case and the reason for separation of ....

@frc1968 Actually I've never heard a conservative complain about the Bill of Rights or the Constitution but I have heard many liberals complain about both ( there may be a few 'conservatives' but none that I have met ) . When I worked at UCLA many years ago I heard liberals constantly complain about "too many rights" such as right to bear arms and the right to assemble. In my vast experience liberals often call for oppression of those they deem too dumb to rule themselves.

@BillyGun357 Hey, I find Mike as annoying as anyone, and I'm no liberal myself. Still, the Second Amendment is taken out of context too much. It does not say we have a right to bear arms full stop. Rather, as Mike points out, the Second Amendment explicitly states that the reason for its existence is for purposes of a militia, but that is a long-outdated need. What Mike is actually damning is the Archie/right-wing (mis)interpretation of the Second Amendment, and I agree with him on that.
