  • I was wondering about 17 cents, souns like Dierks for sure!

  • (:BLUEGRASS RULES;)

  • I have a question, did Dierks sing on the song "17 Cents" off the "Things that Fly" album???

  • @MisterSchlomah yes he did!

  • Responder a este vídeo...

  • AHH-MAZE-ING:)

  • bad ass

  • Where's Jim Beavers? I love this song. Dylan's version, Grateful Dead's version, Tim Obrien's version (especially), AND this one. Awesome.

  • @adha4: Maybe you should try seeing the Stringdusters live. They blow Dylan away.

  • Ha Ha ! had to post this - My husband has just listened to this (he's into Dylan too) and he really liked it !!!! Salad for him all week !

  • They could be singing about a bar of soap.

No thought whatsoever about the lyrics - so many artists do this ! totally disrespectful.

Listen to Dylan's version and learn how his songs should be performed

  • @adha4 I really agree with this statement. It's amazing what passes for talent these days. And this dude is HUGE!!!! This is one of the flatest, deadest performances I've heard in a while.

  • @adha4 Ever hear of dynamics!!!!!!!

  • Dynamics ? No, not really I have to confess.

But I'm a "Dylan" LISTENER - I listen to Dylan, have done from the beginning, I really "get" Dylan and what he's on about.

I don't object to folk covering Dylan at all, what an amazing compliment that must be !

I just like those who perform his work to appreciate it, not just perform it because it's agreat song ! call me old fashioned !

  • @adha4 how would you know he doesn't appreciate the song, i'd say he does appreciate it considering he put it on his new album. he took a great dylan song and made it his own, i don't know if you know this but in bluegrass music people often take a song like this and completely change the sound of it, so just because its not exactly like dylan did it doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate the song

  • @lgjones88 I am aware of that, Dylan does the same with his own stuff, he adds a banjo, violin or panio & totally creates a new feel to a song.

That particular song, for me, needs to be delivered with a lot of "thought" it's quite a poignant song and needs careful delivery, not fast as this is, that's not to say the singer is not thinking about the lyrics, but it doesn't quite convey that to me.

Dylan's original "I Want You" is too fast for me also I prefer the slower versions !

  • @adha4 i understand what your saying, he definitely doesn't sing the song with the same feeling dylan did, but then again who could

  • He stole the Tim Obrien arrangement for this. I do like it !

  • This proves almost any song can be made to fit a genre.

However, the isolation, desolation and despair conveyed by Bob's version are lost in translation.

  • Well.... I'm impressed and that doesn't come easy.

  • Well.. I'm impressed and that doesn't come easy.

  • wow he must of got his hair cut again

  • Jon Randall sat in on this song too. Great show.

  • Yes, January 20th. Whoever shot this video must have been sitting right behind where I was sitting. I was at a table right in front of the stage below Andy and Jesse. Awesome show.

  • was this yesterday??
